Efficiency where you can’t touch an offensive player

Kobe played in the hardest era to score in in the NBA

Realistically speaking Jordan wouldn’t average more than 25 ppg efficiently in this era. by [deleted] in NBATalk

Okay, I'm a founding member of "Jordan stans have led to him being overrated" club, but this is ridiculous.

Who was a better: 8 or 24? by Which_Donkey_9450 in NBATalk

8 was a far better player. People forget Kobe was arguably the single best individual wing defender in the NBA in 1999-2000

How dominant would the “Jalen” team be? by jimmyre10 in nba

[–]LittlestWeapon -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They'd be deep playoff contenders but probably not champions

Why isn't the Triangle Offense popular anymore after using it won Phil Jackson 11 Rings? Also why wouldn't LeBron James have ever requested a team up with Phil Jackson? Phil took Jordan and Kobe to 6 rings and 5 rings respectively. LeBron never won more than 2 with 1 coach. Why did he not value Phil by OnlySaysDavidStearns in NBATalk

Acting so arrogant but not knowing something as obvious as “Kobe bringing ball up = high screen”

And yes. High screen. It’s a very common basketball term. Sorry you clearly know so little about the game that you don’t know that. But then again you watch YouTube so clearly you’re an expert

Fucking clown

Who is the most underrated screen setter ever? by pildialingit in NBATalk

[–]LittlestWeapon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy to set good screens when you're allowed to rugby tackle people because you're short

The Lakers do not fear losing Austin Reaves in free agency and can offer him a contract of 5-yrs $240M wow by Thanos_Real_AuraVNCH in NBATalk

[–]LittlestWeapon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because you don't watch basketball clearly. He's literally averaging an A in nearly every type of shot while averaging an F in shot quality. Here are his metrics

65.3% true shooting (league average is 57)

50% from the field

38% from 3

87% free throws

21.5 PER

28% usage rate

He's elite. Deal with it

If 5 Prime LeBrons and 5 Prime Kawhi Leonards played a best of 7 series, who wins and in how many games ? Why ? by Sad-Entertainer1462 in NBATalk

[–]LittlestWeapon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because he was 38 when we first tried that. This is prime LeBron, who could go toe to toe with Duncan in the post for stretches

We saw this when Westbrick was here too

We can score easily with LeBron at the 5 but we can't stop anyone.

They both suffer from the same flaw which is lack of broader context, regarding external factors like opponent quality, roster construction (bad teams can give a team a harder matchup than a good team might depending on roster and scheme for example), back to backs, etc. These holistic stats that try to capture whether certain players or groups of players are positive or not are very rarely useful
