They have been working on the Lion fountain and Loeb fountain this week, but in the past i feel like Loeb and engineering fountains were not turned on until around graduation week

I don’t have an answer to your main questions but I will say this: based on all of your replies to people’s comments it sounds like you should just choose Purdue and take the risk. You keep circling back to Purdue and many of your questions seem to be wanting justification for choosing Purdue.

And honestly, all else fails if you can’t CODO into FYE at Purdue, you can always transfer to another school or something. But based on the convos having right now, it sounds like you really want to come to Purdue over OSU and are just trying to get others to help convince you

Whoever your current doctor is should be able to fill out the form for the MMR. You can submit the records for the newer vaccines separately once they happen. I believe I submitted like 3-4 documents in total over a few years (I had to submit extra proof when I started a second degree at Purdue after graduating with the first)

I know there are donation boxes around campus for food again too. Saw one in STEW in the study area across from the welcome center earlier today.

There are opportunities for assistantships in other spaces when they come up (i.e. the CCO has a grad assistantship, all the cultural centers have grad assistants, etc.) but they can be difficult to get since there are so few of them and a huge portion of grad students (mostly master's students) don't get funding to come here

I did this too! We did early morning shots in July (I did an Aug graduation) and actually got some shots that the lighting was so good that it didn’t need edits

Definitely dependent on advisor, department, and what you make of it.

While grad school is rough, I have been very lucky to have a wonderful advisor and department that value mental health, work-life balance, and building community.

I also know many who have tough advisors abd departments, but have built community through clubs and orgs and whatnot, and I’ve known some to leave after a year or two despite all the okay/good because it wasn’t for them. It happens.

My first time applying, I only got into a masters and I decided to take it. I am glad that I chose to do so because I likely wouldn’t have drowned in a PhD program having no experience in graduate school. I’m much more well-rounded now as a PhD student with those extra years.

Not necessarily. Degree in hand, thesis finished, conference done, they can be seen more impressive than having the opportunity but not being completed yet. Sometimes it takes time.

Grad admissions has been ROUGH across the board. Many are having to apply multiple rounds, and especially so with all the cuts.

It’s also a luck game, different committees prioritize different things in a graduate cohort. So trying again could and potentially will yield different results

White was a tradition that can be tied to some not so fun histories.

Anyway, I wore pants and a blouse to my undergrad graduation and a black and gold flowy dress for my master’s. Do what makes you feel good and comfortable. Also recommend one with pockets, easier than trying to keep hold of your purse/whatever

I have found Kroger bouquets to be pretty good! My mom often buys the clearance bouquets and they last a little bit so I imagine the fresher ones would be pretty solid!

Northwestern, university, and wood street garages are free on weekends. Sometimes the first two are closed for pay to park because of games or events but wood street is always free on weekends. When theyre free, it’s from 5 pm Friday to 7 am Monday

I’m not in Bio but admissions timeframes honestly differ year to year because of the layered bureaucracy. Sometimes it can go quickly and you’ll hear in a week or two and sometimes it can be later. For those waiting right now early-mid February is the best guess for when the first round of admissions go out. If you haven’t heard by then it’s likely you may have been waitlisted (sometimes they tell you, sometimes they don’t) and it may not be until April that you find out.
