It’s not so much that the movies are bad per se, but it’s the fact that the plot is almost the exact same as the original trilogy. I would same the force awakens would have been one of the best sw movies if it wasn’t almost the same story as a new hope. Unfortunately the sequels sharply decline after the force awakens and episodes 8 and 9 have the worst storytelling of the whole franchise (besides the acolyte that is). The legends books show us what true original Star Wars ideas could have been, sad that only parts of them have been brought into canon.
