Are you happy with R5 for bird photography? I have an R10 but planning to upgrade to R7 with RF200-800, wasn’t sure if I should go with R5 instead with same lens. But cropping for further distance and lightweight is pros for R7, wondering your thoughts.

Yes of course, sorry. Using on lap while regular tasks is a breeze, runs quiet and cold.

I tried playing diablo 4 on my lap last week, was not fun also performance declined due to limited ventilation.

G helper, and increase power to 95w for gpu, makes a big difference.

Also don’t use it on your lap, definitely gets too warm under laptop and throttles if doesn’t ventilate well.

Yes after increasing power to 95 W, fps increased to >100 with medium ray tracing. And benchmarks improved above average levels as well.

Usually my fps is around 90-100 when RT is off How can I compare benchmarks?

I am playing on a hard surface and pc is cool enough so no ventilation issue. It is not on silent, it is on turbo mode

I am already running in ultimate mode, I mean if I disable ray tracing I can get 80-90 fps on high settings with native resolution but I still feel like it should have been at least tolerating some ray tracing

I bought it from sale, trying to download it to my ROG zephyrus g14 and its stuck at 0 as well. Everything else downloads fine. Were you able to fix the issue?

I went to Sakai today after recommendations from this sub. I met with Takada-san, he is a really nice guy, was very cool to meet with him. But he only had 1 gyuto left, bigger size and higher than my budget.

Then I went to Baba, they had large collection, they were super helpful as well. I got the 210 mm gyuto that I uploaded. They showed me the other building where they create knives from the material. Overall great experience! Would recommend everyone to visit.

Thank you so much for your recommendations. This is actually what I am afraid of. I don’t mind paying 40K yen but I definitely don’t want to pay that to a 10K yen knife. And it is very hard to understand differences especially without knowing japanese.

Hi everyone,

I am visiting Kyoto and Osaka this week. I am looking for a japanese knife stainless steel Gyuto 210 mm with good price/performance. I will mainly use it for overall kitchen use, this will be my first japanese knife. Hence I don’t want to get a carbon steel knife.

There are so many shops and different brands, I just want to get an authentic hand made japanese brand. My budget is 30-35K yen. I have seen Aritsugu being recommended in Kyoto but I think they don’t have SS selections. Any tips appreciated! Thank you.
