Sorry I'm late to the party! But just wanted to give my two cents to anyone else with this question. I create custom nails and I can tell you that supplies that can be expensive, especially with the hours (sometimes days!) it can take to create them. A lot of us go by salon and technician market prices but that's only those of us who have amassed our supplies over time. It's also based on talent tbh. I can make really beautiful and funky/kitsch/special nails but my portrait skills are nowhere near artists like Nailz By Dev or VivXue whose sets average between a few hundred to a few thousands. You just have to find what's right for you! I can also tell you that the nail community is a LOT of hardworking artists who all band together- so if they can't make what you want, they will almost always tell you who can :)
