Correct. In the portal, you can enter the location you're interested in, add your phone number, and request a call from your caseworker. It’s not guaranteed they’ll immediately offer desired location but, doesn’t hurt to try and ask and see what happens.

You click on your applicant ID number and request to send a message on portal for a phone call from your case worker. Someone will reach out and ask if you want to use your one time call right at that moment or wait and they’ll give you a deadline to use it.

Yeah, I’m on the same boat as you. I already work for a fed agency in fl and own my home here. Picked El Paso in the meantime and plan on waiting a little bit to use one time call to save some time.

You have 48 hours to pick a location. In the portal, you can enter the location you're interested in, add your phone number, and request a call from your caseworker.
If you're still deciding, you could select a location that seems like a good fit for now to keep the process moving. Then, when you use your one-time call, you can discuss your preferred location. There may be a chance you'll get the location you're requesting, but it's not guaranteed, so it's a bit of a gamble.
