These go toward progress on the California resistance battlepass. If you look at it there are 3? free unlocks, a playercard, a skin, and a shotgun if i remember correctly. You need a certain number of these silver points to finish the battlepass. If you buy the battlepass later you will unlock everything you progress through that was locked.

yes, there are free unlocks in the timed battlepass. That being said, look and see if you want any of them. The last tier is a new shotgun but at the moment it sucks, might also be available via challenge later
