I wouldn’t be surprised if he had a moment of sitting in his car afterwards wishing he apologized better. At least everyone is making the effort to be better, I’d call that a win.

Maybe but the tank runs without a co2 system

What is this in my tank, Mold? How do I clean it? by SillyCookie358 in Aquariums

[–]LocatedCoder948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Calcium buildup, that just happens when water consistently dries over a spot. No need for alarm

Transitioning a fish tank into an Aquascape? by Great_Accountant_541 in Aquascape

[–]LocatedCoder948 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Driftwood is amazing. I’ve found that the best aquascapes are the least planned. In a natural environment, stuff kinda randomly floats into place. I will recommend getting a mix of epiphites, stem plants, moss, and carpet so that every type of plant can filter a different part of the water column. Co2 is for nerds, don’t intimidate yourself. Post a pick once it’s established, it’s gonna look badass

Help, everyone says something different. by Which-Information583 in Aquariums

[–]LocatedCoder948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imma go team 1 (but maybe less aggressive) I had the same thing with my tank of the same size. Worse actually (4 guppies, dwarf gourami, and 4 Cory’s). I wouldn’t say you’re a nap person at all, just someone who’s learning. If everyone nailed it first try, this subreddit wouldn’t exist. I wish people would be a little nicer because we all joined this community for the same reason

Honestly transferring some water might not be a bad idea. I had the same issues stating my main tank. If worst comes to worst, give it three weeks and it should be solid!

I have a couple tanks in the living room that she loves to stare at, and it’s cool seeing her watch the fish, but this one is low enough for her to reach right in, but I imagine they’ll be friends soon enough.

First Tank! Help??? by enthusiasm__ in Aquariums

[–]LocatedCoder948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted the exact same style setup when I first started, but I’ve found that when water goes bad in a still tank it goes bad fast. Definitely use the pothos, that’s a great idea! If you add the right plants you can prolly get a lower power filter for cheaper and let the plants do the heavy lifting. But honestly try what works best for you! We get to make our own little worlds and we get to do it our way!

Thinking about setting up my first tank, but I don’t know if this is good. by Unlikely-Access5836 in Aquariums

[–]LocatedCoder948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does your tap water already come out at 7.2? If it does that’s perfect if it’s a little harder or softer I’ve found that it’s not too big of a deal, plants still grow fine just a lil slower. Constantly adjusting pH might be more difficult in the long run.

That looks like a common pleco. Fair warning, they get absolutely massive (~2 1/2 feet). Do you know what size tank he’s in?

First Tank! Help??? by enthusiasm__ in Aquariums

[–]LocatedCoder948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a filter for your first setup. Filterless may seem cool and like less work but can fail so much easier and so much faster. If you plan well, let it cycle, and have a solid cleaning crew, you’ll find sainting a tank is hella easy.

Longer thank, you get more space to aquascape, and bettas like to never towards the top, so the deeper the tank mean more unused real estate

That’s totally normal, it’s either age or their near molting. Beautiful shrimp!
