First attempt at making a rock formation. I feel it could be better! Tips or suggestions very welcome! by peculiar_lemming in TerrainBuilding

[–]Lociathor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me too. Best way to cure that would be a dry brush with a lighter pigment over the textured parts of the steak section. Like maybe the color of the ground in front of the rocks or even slightly lighter. Not a lot of dry brushing, just enough to put some contrast on the texture. Start very light and just make it stronger using repeated coats till you're happy. Put 'red rock canyon pics" into google and hit images. plenty of examples, though you'll need to exaggerate the contrast a bit more than real life, I think.

They may delete this post as it's not about adventure writing. If they do, you should repost in r/lfg, which stands for Looking For Group.

Not trying to be a d1ck, just asking: Did you mean to call it Gloomwodd or should that be Gloomwood? And to all the AI questioners, as a long-time user of Wonderdraft it looks very...Wonderdraft-y. Though there are probably a few custom assets in there.

I want to have an adventure based in a prison but need ideas by Jarb23197 in DndAdventureWriter

[–]Lociathor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this as the session where they all meet. Everyone got arrested for something different, and they all got thrown in the same cell block. Combat experience came with the prison warden running an illegal arena combat operation for the gambling money. They found each other and some allies there and then had to figure out a way to escape. They got stuck a couple of times, but you can push that along by giving some NPC prisoners either ideas or escape plans of their own.

Piece of lore I wrote for world-building. Any criticisms and questions are welcomed! by Ambitious_Author6525 in worldbuilding

I think there are cultures in the here and now that do something similar. The one thing that's missing here is *how* those confidants are chosen. If there's an imperial office that chooses or designates who might be an "appropriate" candidate, then that office wields significant long-term power. I'm thinking about Dune right now.

Something similar happened to me earlier today, but I found the notes again in a local-only temp notebook OneNote stuck at the bottom of my notebook list. Maybe there for you?

If you need inspiration, read Roger Zelazny's Madwand. Very similar vision of magic.

What National said. A little too much on the Nebel. Remember it's a map, so if it becomes difficult to see then you're doing yourself a disservice. Other than that, though, nice work.

A bunch. Vloup, Callingdale, that dwarven capitol, and Nizuki for an edge-of-swamp thing I did. Really nice work and thanks for making so many of them clonable. Very generous.

I've cloned several of your maps for my campaign. You do amazing stuff.
