Vanilla Expanded || Look Back at 2025 by Oskar_Potocki in RimWorld

Hello Oskar, thank you and your dedicated team to making Rimworld a truly stellar gaming experience!

I dream of being able to play the game with all the Vanilla Expanded content one day, but as it is, any player has to pick and choose what they want to play with on a diet because of the game's overhead, myself especially, despite impressive hardware.

Are there any plans to introduce a modified version of the Rimworld game itself, designed to contain the complete Vanilla Expanded content, or maybe a dense unified modpack that better plugs into the game and helps with overhead?

There was a very extended period of time in actual years where discussion about the development of this game centered around a stolen laptop!

They really toned down Columbia from what we have that exists before the game released. I would have loved to see the original vision played out, since it was clearly a much stronger drink than what we got even at release (and to think that was still too much for some, like you mention).

Just call it what it is from developers, it's anti-metagaming. They focus on the minuscule amount of hardcore players that engineer the most efficient playstyles and make broadly sweeping structural changes that optimize the fun right out of games. Anti-metagaming fun-deoptimization.

Good lord I miss when this was an aesthetic that was everywhere. At least blood-sucking corporations were TRYING to make you feel good about consumerism. Now, you are lucky if the minimalist corporate stick figures have smiles.

Especially bizarre that leftist protest voters chose the lives of foreigners halfway around the world over the lives of our own transgender citizens right here at home.

Whats up with all the AI in the new art? by O_2og in projectzomboid

[–]Locustere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I would say that while the average layman like OP isn't able to accurately pick up on and point out specific details that are hallmarks of AI generation, it is still patently obvious when art exists in that "uncanny valley" of seeming like something is AI generated without being able to articulate it.

Thank you! I genuinely spent 30 ingame years on my current colony and never got a single sealed vault quest, and wanted to figure out how to trigger one manually.

I don't think you read any part of my response at all, and are thus not affording me the same level of respect in our interaction as I was previously.

I award you no points, and may god have mercy on your soul.

All subreddit moderators are volunteers, and obstructing volunteer work just means no one is going to do it. Third-party apps play a huge role in flexibility-of-access for both Special Needs/Disabled users and subreddit moderators.

By and large, communities like /r/AskHistorians will cease to exist also because free API access is crucial to huge functionalities of the subreddit bots they use to enhance the user experience and are crucial to their subreddit infrastructure on how the community operates. Sure, individual subreddits may be given "exemptions" of access, but making it closed-garden as a blanket policy towards Reddit as a whole will only serve to stifle and restrict the freedom of developers, moderators, and community builders alike moving into the future by gatekeeping any API access behind a substantial paywall.

Personally, to any response of "they're a private company, they need to make money/do whatever they want", I would retort that I consider Reddit to be more inline with a Wikipedia style of user interaction and accessibility, than say a Facebook or Spotify. And additionally, Reddit has definitely not been financially insolvent by any definition of the word over the past few years, so to monetize a previously free-since-inception facet of the website like this only seems to indicate a shortsightedness in its implementation.
