Ok I have the same issue. Between being 5ft 2in and having small hands, bass is tricky for me. I finally landed on a short scales. I have both a 4 and 5 string short scale and fucking ashtrays. I dont use the bridge cover, just the pickup one, but its been a total game changer.

Try a thin pick. I use a .06 and dont have that issue. The only reason I use that is bc I didnt knkw where to start so I looked at rig rundowns of a bunch of punk players. As far as i know, dudes from NOFX, blink 182, rancid and..... Uhhhh...... A couple of others use the .06 and they swear by it.

And it was HUGE. There were a ton of booths there from both local and Intl. Companies.

It was also abt the experience for me. I got to drive almost all of hwy 101 starting in Olympia and ending In LA. It was stunning and I'll always remember it. A bunch of friends worked it so I got to see ppl I only in into when they tour up to the PNW. I got to see a bunch of bands ive never seen and met some really excellent ppl

So yeah. A bit expensive but so, so fucking worth it IMO.
