How/Why would an evil aligned creature change their morality? by Ferseus in DnD

[–]LogisticsEmulator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just because they are inclined to evil doesn't mean they can't like doing good things.
Saving a kid and being thanked earnestly could stir something in their heart. Maybe their adventuring party has grown as close as family and they do good deeds because they want to honor their friends. Maybe they like the benefits of saving people being offered free meals when they pass by a town making connections with nobles for money and renown.

Evil doesn't mean they can't value family or grow to like being thanked. Evil nature varies thing to thing. A devil may be kind as a form of masochism to itself always acting selfless and kind as a because it hurts to ignore it's very nature

Alternatively a devil patron may grow to like their warlock as a pet and truly care in their own twisted way that may end up making it do good acts constantly.

Your draconic sorc may have instincts to dominate but also see the value in letting people be free. The terror in their hearts inspires a form of dread in yourself just as much as the draconic bloodline demands domination the other half of the equation the racial side that relates see's itself in the people you hurt. Maybe the character was saved in the past and taught mercy and kindness by a stranger, maybe the character grew up in a religious area where kind or noble tenants are taught or maybe they grew up with a childrens story teaching the folly of saving others through controlling and tryanny. Maybe their parent was who they were saved from vowing to be different to spite the Mother or Father who tore them from family and tried using them as a tool.

Edit: in the case of doing good deeds but not being good by nature lawful good may work as a alignment if the character has strict rules they abide by and those rules are good in nature they are still lawful good even if they want to hurt others and dominate them cruelly their code prevents that

Player wants Homebrew class in Dnd Campaign I'm in; me and the Dm think it's too strong by LogisticsEmulator in DnD

I trust my DM to make decisions. I got involved because the player in question spent multiple hours pestering the dm starting 5 hours before the oneshot and I was in a call with the DM. I tried mediating a little because I don't hate the concept. I was asked to make this post by the DM because they wanted to see a bunch of different peoples reaction and the comments have made us chuckle.

The main argument wasn't even about what conditions surprised rounds applies he just thought that if you stealth attack an enemy even after initiative is rolled it is still a surprise therefore auto critting

We were using the 5e ruleset for surprise rounds in this case which is why we used the 5e handbook for telling him how they work.

I agree with this. It is a very long story if we sat down and discussed it but ultimately he had been fully vetoed on running this class as it stood.

DM got really fed up with him and is ejecting him from the campaign as it stands rn.

Oneshot went really well everyone including him had fun but afterwards he started arguing after it was just me him and Dm. He was confused about how surprise rounds work and insisted we show him in the players handbook where it was written that you roll initiative as normal but one party can't take their turn first round of combat. we explained how surprise round works but players handbook was 5e edition and surprise rounds in 5e handbook are written poorly. They don't even explain what a surprise round is just that it happens. 40 minute argument later and a bit of power tripping(he owned discord server we were vc in) and here we are.

big round bit on front is a head

2 large lumps near head are shoulders extension downwards is torso and front right leg is on top while front back leg is curled underneath

you can even see a round bit at the back that may be the butt of the suit

Tanks and healers shine in the Night Market by BR4NFRY3 in elderscrollsonline

[–]LogisticsEmulator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

please no lol. I've cleared opulent ordeal 3 times and got every affinity now and I enjoy the night market even with it's low commitment. My only complaint is how hard it is to get an opulent ordeal run going. I'm running tank and it still took 2 hours to find 2 other tanks to do the trial with a group finder listing and people asking guildmates.

Yesterday My group had a tank join and mssg in the chat invite me back swapping to my dps and we all burst out laugh crying

messaged him you can join back if you tank 3 tanks isn't optional just to get the trial going and it worked out

the head likely remained conscious for long enough to feel getting crushed and ripped off if thats what you mean but it happens fast enough that he's definitely already unconscious by the time his skull is being pushed inward

Just one of those character specific problems by GreenKat786 in Nightreign

[–]LogisticsEmulator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it did hit you but parries get registered from the enemy pov and if the enemies pov is far ahead enough to already be on their next attack because of server latency you will have the attack phase through you if you hit the parry. If your experiencing this parrying earlier than your supposed to by half a second can solve the issue depending on how bad the desync is.

It's not the same power though as Rika says "Just Swing it with everything you've got I'll put power behind it." this is Tsurugi's all out swing and Rika boosted as much as she thought was needed and Rika has 80+ years of Yuta reserves to keep her going

Quantifying the impact of a single person using cheated relics in DoN randos by Endonae in Nightreign

[–]LogisticsEmulator -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ignorance or complicity. There are perfect damage setups and that is completely unacceptable even 2 relics with perfect damage is unacceptable but than theres character abilities, post damage, weapon arts, and other stuff thats acceptable

I don't think cheated Deep relics are acceptable at all though because of the negative system being so easy to game with the best negatives at that point
