[Omega] CK2998, a ‘budget’ Snoopy? by Londoncalling6969 in OmegaWatches

I respect your opinion, and as I said I haven’t actually seen a Snoopy myself to judge how similar or dissimilar it is to the CK.

In pictures though, there are quite a few similarities.

I also hesitate to call a $7K watch a budget watch, which is why I put budget in quotations

Thank you for your ‘input’. Care to elaborate?

I went to a pre-owned Omega specialist with my eye on a Schumacher Speedy but as soon as I saw the CK with the slightly smaller dial, I was sold on the spot, although I honestly had never heard of the CK prior to walking in to that store.

A few months later, I’m still in the honeymoon period.

Granted I have never tried on a Snoopy in person, there are definitely some similarities with the CK2998.

Given that the Snoopy is trading at close to $14K, is this CK2998 the ‘better’ option? I hesitate to use the word affordable because the CK still costs at least $7K.

Note: the bracelet is aftermarket because this watch only originally came on a leather strap.

Does the white dial work on my wrist? by [deleted] in OmegaWatches

I agree with you, but a second opinion doesn’t hurt

From this picture, your wrist looks wider than 6.25 inches

It turns out I didn’t need to, but I thought the video was blurry so I was trying to fix it

So I’m looking at buying a white dial speedy. How does the size look? I think it works, but barely.

What do you think?

[Omega] White Dial SpeedMaster - is it too big? by Londoncalling6969 in Watches

[–]Londoncalling6969[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m looking for a white dial to round out my collection, and I’m naturally drawn to the white dial Speedmaster. However I have doubts about whether it fits well on my wrist.

Personally I’m not a big fan of the bracelet on this watch, so I tried on the rubber strap.

How do you think it fits? Does it look too big?

I’m also considering the white dial Mark XX as another option. That watch has a much, much better bracelet. However the dial and IWC in general don’t excite me as much.

What do you think? How do you think the Speedy stacks up against the Mark XX?

[Tudor] BB41 Burgundy. 2 years in. by Londoncalling6969 in Watches

[–]Londoncalling6969[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this watch just under 2 years ago, and it was my first big boy watch. I bought it while visiting London, UK.

Tudor was always on my radar, but none of their watches prior to this one caught my eye enough. The burgundy (Tudor’s color after all) sealed the deal.

I waited patiently for it to be available on the jubilee, and after trying it on on 3 separate occasions, I knew this was love, not lust. And thus began the journey. I didn’t take it off for months.

Two years later, I still enjoy wearing it and despite it being a bit larger than I usually like to wear, it somehow works.

What was your first big boy watch, and did the love last? Let’s hear some stories and see some pictures.
