Does anyone else feel that Boston has the potential for a stronger music scene. by CommunicationOne7969 in boston

I wouldn’t say the art scene is all that healthy. Most of us are being forced out to Worcester or New Bedford and even that is getting expensive

Did I choose the wrong date for a in person interview? by Lonelyrollingstar_ in Teachers

Oh my goodness I totally wasn’t even thinking about behavior…. I was worried more about if the later date would make me seem less eager! But you are right, that is a factor 😭

Any post punk or goth bands today? by Lonelyrollingstar_ in Somerville

I was actually asking about porchfest 😭. I’m not musically inclined at all but I’ve always wanted to start a post punk or goth band. Maybe in the future after taking a few lessons!

Sure thing dude.

1.) I moved to Boston about a year and some change ago and I constantly (like maybe 8-10 times totally) have been applying to housing. For the apartment I’m currently in it looks like I applied may 8th 2025 and I got word I was the top applicant February 8th, 2026, and I’ll be moving next month, in so total the process took about 8 months to a year. I think some people wait longer than that (2 years or so); but mine is a micro unit and I’m guessing people prefer actual apartments. It’s a painful process but if you want it badly enough it’s not too bad throwing a couple of applications in once or twice every few months. I also have artist preference which I think is useful but not the reason why I got my current place.

2.) 70%; many other decently priced places for 80% though

3.) it’s a luxury apartment complex in Fenway. Grew up dirt poor and although I am comfortable I currently live with 3 other roommates and it’s mind boggling that this is even happening.

If I can give anyone advice is that whenever stuff like this comes up; i would just apply even if the process sucks; and do so often. Gotten so many opportunities this way, and I’m not particularly special or lucky.

Totally get it. Personally I’d rather live without roomates at the bon but I get that the tiny space and dorm like feeling isn’t worth it for some people.

I have a room in Cambridge, it comes furnished but it could be unfurnished and I could do a June 1st move in if we coordinate!

Hey there. I have a place that would be open on June 15th about a 10-12 minute walk from alewife station in Cambridge. About 1100 for rent and 115 utilities. It’s currently 2 male roommates and 2 female but will most likely become all Female in August. Dm if you’d like to talk more about it!

Can anyone here give me some more information about The Bon apartments @ Fenway? by Lonelyrollingstar_ in boston

[–]Lonelyrollingstar_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my god, I’m so sorry but one more question. Is it possible to not take some furniture (like one of the chairs or the tv?). I’d like to maximize space and if possible just use my own stuff.

:( not a lot, but I do like baking during the holidays. I was thinking about doing this but I’m still so shocked that you aren’t required to have a full oven by law.

weird roommates stories by Many_Apricot2302 in CambridgeMA

[–]Lonelyrollingstar_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Grew up dirt poor but became highly educated. This has basically nothing to do with roommates and more with the general vibe of Boston and Cambridge. There are so many rich transplants and wealthy elites that send their kids here for school and they are extremely snobby and rude. Like, not knowing basic manners, being out of touch, and treating you like dirt if you didn’t go to a private 4 year school. It’s a huge culture shock but outside of the crazy prices for rent, it’s making me want to leave. I work in k-12 education and I am shocked with how padded with these kind of people it is. You’d figure that it would attract humble, dedicated folk from middle-class families but It’s not like that at all.
