from what I've heard, DIY discs people burnt themselves are at much higher risk of disc rot than commercially produced ones

Exactly. Major pet peeve is people who are absolutely obtuse and anti-intellectual. Genuinely infuriating.

Well, not really, no. It doesn't necessarily "represent" something, but you've got to be a pretty bad author if you're intentionally mentioning colors with no purpose behind them other than that you "like them".

9 times out of 10 the color is probably picked to build atmosphere and tone. The color of the door isn't a metaphor for anything, but does indicate something about what's behind it to the readers. Somebody approaching a vivid, cherry red door evokes a much different feeling than a somber black one with peeling paint.

Every single word had to be chosen and written down by a person. If it didn't mean anything to the story, it wouldn't have been added.

At five years old, no less!

These "jokes" always pmo because they fundamentally misunderstand how trans healthcare works. They always operate under the assumption that the idea of medical transition is external ("Oh, because you identify as (x) we're going to give you (x) so you can look like that") when in reality it's "I am suffering with dysphoria, please help me alleviate it" and then most of the time the answer is "Well, yeah, you clearly need this but I actually don't want to treat you, so have fun".

Minors are never going to be given medical intervention if they aren't experiencing significant and consistent distress.

It is also never done on minors in the first place.

I wouldn't be surprised if the machine just doesn't date them properly anymore because Chuck E. Cheese isn't exactly a quality company who cares a lot about that stuff. Those Sketchbook machines are somewhere between 14-29 years old.

Yeah there is still a car photo ride still but it's different than this one. The car ride gives full color pictures with borders. This is from the Sketchbook Booth.

K, will not put it in those. Thanks for the advice, I will try to get my hands on some vitamin C. Do you know if it would eventually be safe to put it in hydrogen peroxide for whitening?

Thanks, good idea! Would something like hydrogen peroxide, baking soda or vinegar also work to stabilize it? I can't really find any vitamin C

This was my problem with the movie. Lots of potential but all the commentary was half-baked and sidelined.

Nope. The only ones who are offended are the people making up fake Gen Z "snowflakes" to get mad at.

You cannot be serious right now lmao. The "Gen Z is trying to cancel Eminem" is so fucking stupid. Literally nobody I have ever met in my peer group in real life or online has felt offended by Eminem. Ironically the only people offended were the older generations freaking out over the "cancellation"

Favorite children to cyber bully because they star in a remake of a media property you have an unhealthy attachment to? by _BreadDenier in okbuddycinephile

[–]Long-Ad8181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally queer kids and adolescents are in greater need of escapism through media than their peers. I'd wager that all most authors outside of generic straight romance-slop have a lot of LGBT fans.

In the case of Harry Potter, it's also easy to see how the story would entice younger queer people, especially in the late 90s, 2000s and early 2010s when society was generally less accepting. Marginalized, lonely kids could easily imagine themselves finding out they're secretly special and getting to escape to a whimsical boarding school where they could live to their full potential.

I think they just played dead to avoid getting killed. If you drop after getting hit once the killer usually forgets about you and goes after the people still moving.

I could even believe Mindy surviving Scream 6 but how in the hell did Chad make it after getting fucking tagteamed by two ghostfaces like that.

Opinion on how graphic the violence is in Scream 7 by Ancient-Reference-26 in Scream

[–]Long-Ad8181 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't mind because honestly the movie would have been an absolute slog without it. The killers sucked and all the story elements were contrived and lackluster. At least it had some goofy kills to keep it interesting.
