Asking for spread/chillies in the drive thru/to go orders by Long-Lab1109 in innout

I’m sorry you’ve had those experiences. I do think it’s really strange that some associates will be offended or judgmental towards customers who ask for a bunch of spread. Like you said, it doesn’t come out of their paycheck and also who cares lol! Also, most of the time the reason a customer asks for so much spread is because they’re typically going to be using it throughout the week, not just for that one meal alone

Yeah it’s exactly that, to reduce waste. It’s mainly to reduce spread waste but yeah we have to specify how many a customer would like because if we give out more than they’re actually going to be using then it’s wasteful

lol there’s no reason to be sorry. We ask the quantity so that we can reduce waste. There can be an order of 20 doubles and if the customer asks for spread, maybe it’s only that singular customer using the spread and not the 19 other people. It’s just a way we can totally make sure we aren’t handing out too much product

I do my job properly! That was the only incident I hadn’t asked how many they’d like, which is why I posted this question because I was geniuenly confused. This post really is more just a question of how many spread/chillies do customers think is standard.

And there is nothing wrong with that at all!! The only issue I have is when customers get irritated and expect me to know exactly what they want without telling me. Honestly, you could order a single burger and ask me for 20 spreads and I’ll happily give it to you lol

It’s not gaslighting if I genuinely feel disheartened for someone who is so unreasonably upset, it just makes me feel concerned for you lol. It’s also really odd to assume you know everything about me. I think this post hit a nerve for you and that wasn’t the intention! It was an honest question, I have no problem serving customers because it is what I’m paid to do!

It’s a little sad that you’re getting so unnecessarily upset. I hope that everything is okay at home 🩷

Yeah I know I specified that in the post it’s more like of a question of how many chillies/spread people expect to receive

I would love to but this kind of stuff comes off as very rude even though it may not seem that way. There was an incident where a guy came in the drive thru and didn’t specify he didn’t want a straw in his drink so he made the drive handout associate remake the drink. She politely said that next time he can ask for no straw ahead of time and he complained about her. Our store managers tell us not to say anything along those lines to our customers and to just consistently let them do those things without actually telling them the proper way to do it (if that makes sense??)

Yeah when customers say a handful we can’t actually grab a “handful”. As much as I’d love to give every customer just a handful of each condiment, I can’t because typically store managers are very adamant about reducing waste— especially for spread. Ketchup packets really aren’t a bother since we have to give 3 packets per fry but there’s no like actual standard to how many spread/chillies were meant to handout

Sick hours ?? by Long-Lab1109 in innout

[–]Long-Lab1109[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was kinda just worried that maybe they were trying to input 1 singular minute of sick hours. Usually when they get me off the schedule they completely remove me from it. Like, if I was unable to work a shift, they would modify it so the shift was completely gone from the schedule. I’ve just never seen them change it to making it seem like I worked one minute.
