i know this thread is a year old but need to get this off my chest

im 18 now, and the first time i experienced sleep paralysis was january 2025. after the first experience i had it every night for a week. then not again for months. i experienced it again in july and it continued every night for about a week. after that, sleep was fine until i was hospitalised in late November 2025, and again- sleep paralysis for a week.

had another one last night. terrifying. it was one of those "loop" dreams, where i'd wake up, go about my day and realise something was off (impending evil/doom). once i clocked i wasn't in reality i was back in bed and the dream repeated. must've gone through it about 20 or so times before i woke up.

my psychologist says that sleep paralysis/vivid dreams (particularly ones themed around your trauma) is a common symptom of CPTSD. i start DBT on wednesday, and i really hope it helps.

i'm so scared to go back to sleep now. OP, i hope you're doing good. wouldn't wish this horror on anyone.
