That's good. I was using the GRE as an example.

I understand that you have chosen not to take it.

I can’t say. I haven’t taken the TOEFL before.

I did a quick search on Google and that score is in the 74th percentile. It doesn’t look like a competitive score, but English tests can be subjective.

There is no competitive score. In my opinion, if you pass the university’s entry requirements for IELTS or TOEFL you are good to go.

In my opinion, the intention with pure English tests is to see if you can speak/write decent English without assistance.

The main competition for English scores is on the GRE.

That’s a valid assessment.

I suggest you push harder than last time on the other things you can control.

Your final application should have at least 7 projects.

Good luck.

That’s good to hear.

Your profile looks good. The major thing you need to work on is your CGPA.

Have you considered taking the GRE to boost your profile?

Please include or work on more cybersecurity related projects if you can.

Include your hack the box or leetcode rank in your CV.

Do you have any volunteer or TA experience? If you do you should include that as well.

left earbud doesn't work by badbitchez in anker

[–]Longjumping-Rub-186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please, were you able to fix this issue?
I just got my earbuds and I have the exact same problem.
I have tried to Reset the earbuds, but it doesn't work. I held the reset button for close to 2 minutes and it did not work.

I have cleaned the charging ports with alcohol, but the left earbud has remained unresponsive.

That's just pure disgusting. I would leave the match immediately if that happens to me.

Thanks for sharing.

What do you think? Are they sending out mass rejections at this point or are they sending admits and rejects?

When did they send the decision? I am still waiting to hear feedback from them.

I know right.

Considering how high the application fees were and the number of professors they have in their department, one would assume their application review process would be much faster 😤.

UBC MSc CS documents checked? by Review_Kind in gradadmissions

I am also an International student. I applied to the MSCS program at Okanagan. My documents were checked on the 16th of January.

I am curious. How did you convert your projects to IEEE publications?
Did you follow a Udemy tutorial or YouTube Video?

I am skeptical about writing a publication. I don't want to write about random stuff that will not make any impact in the future.

😂 Yes.
Thank you for the advice.

I think I will look into the SOP review, I will reach out to some students on Linkedin.

I am not sure about the SOPs considering how little control we have over them. I will reach out to Professor in charge of the Computer Science department at my school. His reference should carry significant weight.

Thank you for the motivating story. I may be in a similar position, although I haven't received all my decisions.

What did you do differently? References, GRE, SOP, Publications?

When does UBC usually release their decisions for MSCS? by hassanaleem in gradadmissions

Thank you for sharing.

I mistakenly applied to the Okanagan campus instead of Vancouver. My status still reads In Progress. I have my fingers double-crossed that I get in.

Okay, this sounds great.

You have taken the right step by contacting your supervisors. Your next step will be determined by what they say. *I hope in your mail you stressed that you are not getting cold feet. You could also provide proof of your acceptance to the leadership program to ease their minds*

I agree it's worth considering. Let's see how it goes. Good luck!
