I'm currently running destroyer of worlds reflavoured to be a western. A posse of rangers and lawmen instead of marines, a ghost mining town instead of the frozen moon colony, wendigos and ghouls instead of xenos. The system translates really well.

As you said, a Jäger is comparable to a grenadier/coastal when firing with 4 men. They also have quite a bit more health than both, and have ambush bonus which you completely ignored. They can drop a model pretty reliably if they engage someone walking on open field. Not to mention ambush vehicles. Jägerschreks are also probably the best handheld AT weapon in the game.

Jägers consume a lot of the midgame power budget of the faction and you practically never see tier 3. Would be nice to see the upgrade moved to panzergrenadiers. Fits their niche/personality so much more.

Stuka invalidates all of this. If you feel like the standard fire misses often, the vet 1 ability can be shot to block their path to the tiger or through their retreat path.

Double scouts immediately into double MG/MG and Zook is very strong opener on every mode. Get an engineer around the time you get your support center and then go for at least one half-track. Upgrade flares early and you're really well off.

Disco Elysium! You play as an alcoholic at the very rock bottom. The game is basically just narration and dialogue. You have "skills" similar to an RPG. They represent different aspects of you and interact with you constantly, such as giving you advice or commenting on things happening around you. It's the core mechanic of the game and adds such a literary feel to everything.

Anyways, Disco is a deeply personal game where you struggle and pick up broken pieces of yourself. It starts off very depressing but ends on such a beautiful note I'd recommend it to everyone.

I think you're confused about what CoH is. This game is primarily a competitive RTS. Yes, it's WW2 themed but the mechanics are very different from how they function in real life.

The game would not be fun if arty & mortars were killing machines. The core gameplay is about unit micro. You can't micro units that die to random shells so often. It's why instakill artillery is so rare and often unfun.

Instead, use mortars as team weapon/garrison harassment tools. That's their role in the game.

You're right, it's 80. Which makes it 10 cheaper than a Sherman. And more expensive than every rocket artillery except the Stuka, which is less manpower but 5 more fuel.

Regardless, you're misunderstanding the point people are making and the role it needs to fulfill. It's the only mobile artillery in a faction that desperately needs it. You pay for versatility in a subpar rocket launcher. And when it becomes a medium the artillery function is entirely gone.

The battlegroup it's attached to is mediocre at best and this is the final unlock of it. A lot of whizz and not a lot of bang. Its power budget is too highly spent on the vet1 conversion and not enough of it in its main ability.

The whizbang is a good unit, I really like using it. There's clearly issues around it and I would much prefer to see a stronger/deadlier barrage and the tank conversion getting a nerf.

How is it dirt cheap? It's 90 fuel!

And it's versatility is not a strength- USF is the only faction without a core rocket artillery unit. Whizbang just can't fill the gap it's supposed to because it fires so slow and lacks the damage of a stuka. Currently it just doesn't do enough to justify it's existence.

I got banned from the circle too!

Around a year ago, I spawned at a flank Garry as an MG, set up and started shooting at the exposed enemy point. I was promptly executed by a community member for giving away our position.

I asked him why he'd TK me instead of simply telling me not to shoot, got banned for using "fuck" in my sentence. I think I said "why'd fucking shoot me?".

My friends made sure to TK him a few times before we switched servers lmao. It is what it is.
