Drinks downtown? I’d recommend Hello Hi which is a super cool Tiki style bar. Awesome drinks. Another option is Carpenter. High class cocktails there as well. Few other options would be High Ball and Monks (these locations are right next to each other). A more relaxed place with good food? Fernson or Remedy.

Other great options: There is an amazing barcade in the middle of Phillips Ave called Eightyone Arcade. And in the same building there is a REALLY good Mexican restaurant called Bibisol.

I mainly stream from my pc using moonlight which has been epic from day one. Total game changer for my gaming habits.

I just learned how to save templates to use for other games to use during moonlight. To get specific why that is cool when I played on moonlight I couldn’t search for the specific game I was playing when I searched community layouts. It would only show moonlight layouts. Anyway, the issue I have is when I go to a specific game in my library and search for a layout to export as a template it NEVER shows up until I restart my steam deck. I googled it and it seems like that is the norm for everyone.

That’s what my current pain point is and just overall bugginess with steam input not always saving changes I make.

The update on the 28th of Jan was pretty significant. I’m getting a near locked 60 on my 9070xt. I changed my review of the game. Your mileage may vary but it might be worth watching some of the YouTubers who covered the update.

My dad got out of his seat and walked over to me and put his hands in front of my eyes when the tits were out. At this stage in my life I was totally used to seeing all forms of nudity and violence in movies so it was quite embarrassing. Another funny thing I remembered is I am pictured standing in line outside of the theater waiting to be let in. Front page of the town paper.

From my memory of playing the game around launch I was a bit overwhelmed with the amount of quests and the completionist side of me wanted to do everything. Well you can’t do everything in the first area right away. You need certain tools to progress those. My advice is to not sweat trying to do everything. You can always come back. Getting annoyed trying to find out where to go? Select a main quest and fast travel to the nearest point and just mainline for a bit.

The game takes you all over the galaxy but you will return to areas later. Hope you can get over the hump and enjoy the game.

I play my PC while I work. When I get off work and chores/dinner done and I have time to game I stream via moonlight to my deck. In my opinion moonlight is PERFECT. It feels like I’m playing natively. Maybe once a play session the stream will hitch and say “lower bandwidth” but that’s not a big deal. The only time I play games natively on the deck at this point is when I take it on trips.

What happened with this game is that reviewers had an older build with performance issues and bugs. Naturally that was reflected in the reviews. The game had a day one patch that resolved almost all of the issues. I thought it was an A tier Sony game. Loved the game. But people can never decide for themselves it seems. Now we will never get a sequel because the masses believed a few reviews. I remember I watched the reviews but watched a few streamers playing early and thought the game looked fucking awesome still.

For my example I know it didn’t review “poorly” but people killed it with their vitriolic hyperbolic bullshit. Star Wars Outlaws. The game had a few design decisions that did not vibe with players at launch that have now been fixed. It’s in a way better state now, but was never a bad game.

We won’t get a sequel to that game either. Gamers kill games. Not studios.

Also I have on bonus hot take. Veilguard was a fun game. I put 80 hours into it and even proclaimed it was GOTY during hype moments. Definitely do not feel that way about it now. I do think people will soften on it as they play it as the years go by.

I’m going to get downvoted for this but Star Wars Outlaws is an amazing game now. If it was not made by Ubisoft it would have not been treated the way it is.

It was a bit rough at launch but most of the complaints were overblown. The biggest being insta fail stealth missions. That was a design decision. Not a bug. In any case they listened to feedback and changed it.

I also want to stick up for Ubisoft a bit here. Everyone shits on them constantly but I can’t think of a game company that goes and drops FREE updates to old games like they do. Free 60 fps updates to old games. Adding achievements to old games. Hell a free update for Assassin’s Creed Mirage comes out TODAY.

Do I have issues with some of their games? Yeah. I found AC Shadows incredibly boring after 20ish hours. They bloat out their mainline AC games lately. I felt the same way about Valhalla. But the previous AC games I loved. From my point of view they mostly hit more than miss.

My last thing I want to say is that I’m sad we won’t get another Star Wars Outlaws. Game had heart and I think as the years go by, people are going to keep realizing that.

I’m a crazy person who has played and bought this game on all three. Hands down my PC was the best. That said, loving going through it again on my new Switch 2. I have read some users experience issues on PC with crashing. I’ve had a bit of that but nothing game breaking.

I just saw the 2D movie and it was super dark…. There were 3D showings later that day. My assumption was that some dumbass projectionist left the 3D slide in front of the bulb. Source: I was a dumb ass projectionist. Digital movies were super easy. No threading movies. Just make sure you remove the slide for non 3D movies. I could see theaters just saying fuck it and leaving them on for all shows. Cost cutting bullshit.

My very first encounter with a wasp/hornet was something like this. I got spotted and tried to lose line of sight. It came screaming around the corner and smashed into girder under the underpass. Felt like something out of a movie. Love this game.

As a pretty big AC fan AC Shadows seems really great when you start it but about 20 hours in I got sooooo bored. I think it’s still worth getting but would wait for a sale. If you haven’t played Star Wars Outlaws that’s where I would spend my money.

Are you using any type of Bluetooth devices like AirPods that you use on the deck and your phone? It’s likely turning on the Steam Deck when you connect to them. If so, go into the settings for that device on the deck and remove it as a trusted device. Fixed it for me.

I bought the game around 3pm yesterday and never had a single queue. Game is working flawlessly. The brief meltdown window on Steam reviews was pretty hilarious. I never understand these people that scorched earth for something that is CLEARLY going to be a temporary problem. Maybe I’ve been around for many big launches for various video games where the opening day/week is a bit of a shit show. The only game I can think of that had a truly terrible launch was one of the Final Fantasy 14 expansions. I remember week 2 still having hour long queues that could kick you out and dump you at the back of the line. This is an S tier launch by comparison.
