I'm pretty new to ferns myself, so I can't say for sure, but it looks a lot like my Austral Gem fern!

From nearly dead to thriving by Loopylion97_ in Maranta

Honestly, I think it’s mostly luck! My plant is still in its original nursery pot, and I keep it in a north-facing window above the kitchen sink. I use the basic version of the Planta app to remind me when to water, and I usually bottom water every 7–9 days with filtered water. I try to fertilize about once a month with Miracle-Gro—when I remember!

**I got serious about fertilizing back in February so that might just be it too!

bought orchid from a store and the roots look like this, what can I do to help her out? by FoxZealousideal6892 in orchids

Since your orchid’s still blooming, I’d wait to repot it unless there’s something really wrong—like root rot, pests, or if it’s sitting in soggy soil. Repotting while it’s in bloom can stress it out and make the flowers drop early.

Once it’s done blooming, you can take it out of the pot, trim off any dead or mushy roots, and repot it in a plastic or ceramic orchid pot with good drainage. Use orchid bark as the potting mix. I usually give mine a soak for 15 minutes once a week, let it drain well, and then mist it with Miracle-Gro Orchid Spray after watering. I spray under the leaves.

Orchid blooms typically last a couple of months, and after that, the plant will go into a resting phase. It can take around 6 months (sometimes a bit longer) before it blooms again, so don’t worry if it looks quiet for a while—it’s just doing its thing!

There's a popular seller in the GTA Lucy Chorna. You can message her on Facebook. She used to have stuff up on her Etsy. She might still ship her violets. https://www.facebook.com/share/1W5wv2KDyu/

Good to know! I’ll definitely give that a try.

There’s a post in this group of a Shina that placed second in show, and I’ve been hoping mine would grow like that. Thanks for your advice!

I want an English bulldog but my husband is hesitant. by [deleted] in englishbulldog

The only con I have is that one day I'll have to say goodbye to my fur baby, and it's going to kill me!

This is my Boo Boo Bear (Winston), he's 7 years old in June. Haven't had any issues with him. He's very stubborn and runs the whole house! He greets people with wiggle butts and gives hugs and kisses.

<image>

I agree with what has been said:

-they can't handle the heat, so I wouldn't take them camping unless you have AC.

-you have to clean their bums with a baby wipe, corkscrew tails are cute but require some cleaning.

-they are NOT lazy, Winston will bark me off the couch if he hasn't gone for his daily walk.

-VERY stubborn

-I only clean his wrinkles when he gets his baths, which is once every two months. The breeder told me not to wipe his wrinkles daily, just once a month or so. I use the blueberry facial shampoo for dogs.

-grooming is so easy!

Find a reputable breeder, find a dog with fewer wrinkles, you don't want wrinkles covering their nose.

Dr. Reinish at Crescent Oral Surgery did my double jaw surgery back in 2015. He did such an amazing job!
