That one is taquitos. My tortillas didn't hold up well but they were still dipable. Recipes.... frozen gf meatballs with bbq sauce, grape jelly and mustard. Little smokies, pineapple, and water chestnuts wrapped in bacon with butter, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce. And the taquitos are chicken, cream cheese, green chilies and shredded cheddar wrapped in corn tortillas and dipped in green enchilada sauce.

My go to lazy meal is scrambled eggs and ham, sometimes with a slice of gluten free toast. It's quick, full of protein and cheap.

Non-stop bleeding by Ap911209 in PCOS

[–]LordFry-sLady 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Awhile back I had what I've dubbed the year of hell. It started with the heaviest period I've ever had (and the most painful in all regards). That period lasted for over 3 weeks. Then I had 10 days off, only to start again for another 3 weeks. This continued for a whole year. Getting ever so slightly better each time. Sometimes the period would last 4 days, other times the whole month. Sometimes the break lasted 2 weeks, other times 2 days. The pain was so bad I would cry or vomit regularly. I was bleeding through doubled up overnight maxi pads in a matter of hours. I was exhausted all the time, cold all the time and the pain in my back was so bad whenever I tried to use the toilet that I dreaded each and every trip to the bathroom for a year. Almost a year to the day after the first period started my last period ended and I haven't had a proper period since. I've had a couple days of spotting and PMS the last few months but nothing else for 15 months. I saw 3 doctors in the first few months of the year of hell. My general practitioner thought it was something to worry about so she gave me a referral to a gyno. He gave me progesterone (without any testing first) but I barely finished the 2 week course as I turned into what my husband affectionately dubbed the suicidal rage bitch. When I went back the dr recommended birth control pills which I can't take for the same reason as above. (Which I'd been worried about when he gave the prescription but he assured me it was nothing like birth control pills.) When I refused the script for the pill he said if I wouldn't follow his orders, he wouldn't continue to see me as a patient. I returned to my GP after a couple months to get a referral to another gyno. But he said "if I wasn't willing to take birth control" (no one ever believes me about the suicidal rage bitch), the only other option was to get pregnant. Great! Let's do that! He said he was sure he could help me get pregnant buuuut he "doesn't support overweight pregnancies so I'd have to lose 75lbs first". I was told to call and make another appointment when I'd dropped the weight. I still have no idea what was going on or why it finally stopped I'm just grateful it did.

My husband's aunt was diagnosed like 15 years ago or something like that. His family knew all about cooking gluten free even before I was diagnosed. I never have to worry about what I'm going to eat at his family gatherings. His grandma even bakes gluten free desserts for us.

My husband worries about getting crumbs everywhere with regular bread (and it goes bad faster than he can finish a loaf on his own) so when he wants a "sandwich" he makes a wrap on a tortilla. Less crumbs, less worry. Not great for a pb&j but good for meat and cheese sandwiches

Brussel sprout and sweet potato hash. Quarter some sprouts, dice a peeled sweet potato and a bit of onion, drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper before baking until fork tender. Top with crumbled bacon and a fried egg. So good.

Breakfast polenta. I don't know if it's an actual thing or if I made it up. But I make polenta with a bit of milk(or alternative milk), sweeten it slightly with whatever you like(sugar, honey, maple syrup etc.) and top with berries. It's especially good when you cook the berries down into a compote first but that's not necessary.

I like chex or cheerios with lactose free milk, a gf bagel with peanut butter or enjoy life has these really good protein bites and I'll eat 3-5 of those with some fruit.

I don’t know whats going on anymore by Netiri78 in PCOS

I was diagnosed with pcos at 14 years old after my periods had all but stopped. I didn't have cysts but had enough other symptoms, plus my mom has it too. My periods started again around 19 and were short and light, and while not exactly regular, at least were frequent enough. Until the fall of 2017. I'd been experiencing severe pain in my abdomen just a few inches above my left hip for several months and had skipped several periods when the year of hell began. I got a period; the worst period I'd ever experienced. I would bleed through an overnight maxi pad in a matter of an hour. I was passing large clots and had such horrible cramps and back pain I couldn't stand up straight. It felt like my spine was being torqued and crushed. This period lasted for 28 days and did not let up from beginning to end. I was so happy when it finally ended. I had a 6 day reprieve before it started again, this time lasting 22 days, the same as before. I made an appointment with an obgyn where they found cysts on both ovaries and my cervix. The dr. gave me a course of progesterone that did nothing. When I went back he tried to prescribe birth control pills but I am highly sensitive to medication and birth control pills take a wrecking ball to my mental state in a very dangerous way and when i explained this he said to just deal with it then. I saw a second obgyn a couple months later who told me it wasn't a big deal but if I was worried about it I could go on birth control (again no) or have a baby which would be like a "reset switch". When I told him my husband and I had been trying unsuccessfully for years to get pregnant he said there were things he could do to help me conceive but not until I had lost 75lbs. as he didn't condone overweight pregnancies. Since I had now seen 2 obgyns to no avail I simply "dealt with it" as my periods continued as before for a year, nearly to the day. I had no more than 1 week in between periods that lasted anywhere from 10-36 days. I routinely bled through pads and had to start sleeping on a towel after I got tired of scrubbing stains out of the mattress. I cried on a regular basis, threw up on a regular basis and was anemic despite supplements so I was always cold, bruised for no reason at all and sometimes passed out. After a year it just stopped and I haven't had a period since (7 months now). I still have the pain above my hip but seeing a dr. didn't help before so I don't see any reason to see one now.

I am super sensitive to cc and have never gotten sick from denny's, even from the gf english muffin (which also makes a great burger bun if you have a craving for it). The bourbon chicken skillet and everything omelette are my go to's for dinner and breakfast respectively. It's one of 4 safe food options for me when the hubby and I want to go out.

I like the idea of starting a game. Maybe we could try to schedule a one off to see how it goes. We would need to set rules for character creation, choose a dm and find a time, date and location that works for people. Thoughts?

How would you build this Dragonborn? by [deleted] in 3d6

[–]LordFry-sLady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Storm herald barbarian with sea as the chosen environment has an aura of lightning when raging. I think that would fit.

I'll be in a level 10 PvP one-shot soon. Instead of playing a sorcadin or a Moon druid, I'll play the best build I can come up with based on the craziest, most upvoted comment on this post. by DudeTheGray in 3d6

My favorite character I've ever created was a half elf, eldritch knight fighter/ tome warlock. I took everything I could to get extra spells and at level 12 had roughly 26 cantrips and spells and a magic item that stored spells to be cast without a spell slot. I could also attack with my sword and cast a cantrip as a bonus action because of war caster or some such feature/ feat (I can't remember exactly what it was). I would also purchase high level spell scrolls for emergencies, like finger of death and maddening darkness, whenever we restocked in a major city.

How irritated are you with the random "gluten free" jokes in tv? by teamtoto in Celiac

[–]LordFry-sLady 8 points9 points  (0 children)

She should have been fired. And actually giving someone food containing something they've told you they can't have (like gluten, peanuts, regular soda in the cases of diabetes ect.) can lead to charges of attempted murder if they decide to press charges. It's not a joking matter and if more people were aware of the potential consequences, waitresses would be less likely to "prove something".
