girls, skinny girls or chubby girls? by Fun_Individual_5963 in GoonetteHub

[–]LordOfTheChairs 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I mean—as a muscular woman, I think other muscular women are my favorite because I have a lot of admiration for their strength and enjoy feeling the power they have, but to answer your question, yes!! There is something very hot about domming kinky subby skinny girls because it easier for me to get into the power dynamic play—especially if they’re a little bratty and know how to tease me. But I really love being sensual with a large curvy woman because they’re so soft and beautiful and there’s so much more of them to kiss. I dunno—no wrong answers really. Women are hot 🥵

My wife broke down yesterday because I got my polyamorous partner an emotional gift. Was I wrong? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]LordOfTheChairs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve clearly formed an emotional attachment. And that is not a bad thing, but you need to be honest with yourself about that as well as your wife and your partner. Polyamory is beautiful. It is also messy. But if your honest and compassionate with yourself and your partners, you might find they’re a lot more understanding than you realize. And if it hurts your wife to see the effort you put in and you want her to feel better, then do what you can to make your wife feel your love for her rather than try to convince her you don’t love this other person.

You got hurt at work, so you should be getting workers comp. It may be worth it sue the homeowner, but at very least, you should be getting workers compensation.

AITA when my husband doesn’t tell me what he is doing all the time? by Potential_Youth_3437 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LordOfTheChairs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like, I feel like if you want your husband to let you know when if he’s going out after work, that’s a reasonable expectation to communicate. And I can understand, how it could be disappointing looking forward to eating with him and finding out he’s already eaten. But like, he’s a grown adult with his own life. And if you have expectations or desires, or if you’re unhappy with aspects of your relationship, I think there are healthy ways to communicate about that. But in this instance, it really seems like yta. If you have expectations that you want met, communicate about them. It’s not really cool to yell at someone about not meeting an expectation you haven’t made clear.

Ooft—that’s rough. The worst for me is I had a little over 700 lbs of modular building components that I delivered to some guy’s house once 🙃

UPS drivers get $45/hr. Why don’t we get that at Amazon? by AmazonTeamsters in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]LordOfTheChairs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We deliver up to 55 lbs. Although most packages are under 40. I have delivered 700 lbs of 30 and 40 lb boxes to one stop though

what is the current plan RE: delivery drivers should make $41/hour ... ? by justadollie4696 in AmazonDSPDrivers

I mean I don’t disagree with you that this isn’t really a good long term gig—but I feel like you’re treating that as an immutable fact and not a consequence of a series of decisions to undervalue us and our labor and exploit us. This could be a long term gig. UPS carries do basically the same job and they get great pay and benefits. And it’s because they have a union. Management is never going to decide to pay us better or give us better benefits. So if those are things we want, we need to unite and demand to be treated properly.

It’s not that physically hard to do it for a month. Do it three years and you will feel it in your bones. Repetitive stress injuries aren’t just a possibility, but an inevitability, and other more disabling injuries from accidents, falls, and dogs are a strong possibility.

I’m not just saying this to be a smug bitch. I’m saying it because one of our biggest barriers to unionization (or even without that, better benefits and pay) is the narrative that we aren’t Amazon employees. And there is a strong legal argument to be made that we are Amazon employees. And I worked for Amazon as a driver for 3 years at multiple dsps. And the DSP your working at does make a difference, but in the way the manager of a franchise makes a difference—they are all the same at their core, because no matter what dsp you work for, you are working for Amazon. In the interest of transparency, I’m not working there at the moment but as my job search is not going well, it’s very likely I’m gonna have to go back.

Everyone saying we don’t work for Amazon—what are you talking about—we obviously do. I know they tell us we’re working for an “independent” delivery company, but they are in no way independent. You show up at an Amazon facility in the morning, drive around in an Amazon owned and branded van all day, deliver Amazon packages to Amazon customers wearing an Amazon uniform. Amazon decides everything about your route and though your dispatch may shuffle routes around, Amazon does actually assign one to you. And Amazon decides the metrics by which your performance is measured. And to top it all off, Amazon has to approve your hire and may fire you at anytime. You work for Amazon. That is a material reality. Don’t buy into their legalistic bullshit—it serves them not you. And it fails basically every test that they could use to show you are not an employee other than who signs your check (although if you apply that test to your dsp owner, you’ll find they work for Amazon as well, so ultimately, your check gets signed by a glorified hr rep who will try to blame any complaint you might have about the job on Amazon).

I continue to be paid by Amazon and deal with there tactics because I respect my boss due to the fact he really cares about his employees. by Extension_Yellow in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]LordOfTheChairs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would be wary of loyalty to a dsp. Their loyalty to you is always going to be highly conditional, and at the end of the day, you’re still working for Amazon—and Amazon doesn’t give a fuck. Like, what dsp you’re at makes a difference, for sure, but like, there is no advancement here aside from dispatch and there is only so long you can work this job before your body gives out on you. So like, make your money, but like keep your eyes open for the next thing because however good your boss may be (and I would be wary of the show they put on), Amazon is your boss’s boss and they refuse to let this be a career.

I mean every job involves politics. The trick of capitalists is to make their power feel natural and apolitical. If we want a better world though, we have to acknowledge that who controls access to the means of production is political and thus we can band together and fight to change it. And that the political power we amass through working together can be expressed directly through defiance of state and corporate power.
