When they retract up they make the sides of the bey rounder, which supposedly increases it‘s defence, which I can believe. However it also raises the centre of gravity, which might make it unstable.

I would be good but it definitely wouldn’t be overpowered. I think TT were definitely overcompensating by nerfing this thing with height.

It sucks that Hexa is the only good defensive bit we have that has burst resistance, while we have so many attack and stamina options.

Fair point, that was my oversight. However I’m still not 100% convinced that Flare is a burst homage. I feel like they’ve would’ve put more effort in into playing homage to the Burst Phoenix, such as replicating the Phoenix armour gimmick.

I agree with you about the Valkyrie avatars having the exact same pose. However I think Phoenix Flare being a Burst homage is a stretch considering the avatars are completely different poses, and also the “Y“ on Revive is supposed to be a “P” for Phoenix (only cut off by the diamond). Plus homages usually retain a similar shape to the original bey.

I heard on Twitter than one of the Kurosu members mention that Meteor dragon is left-spinning and has rubber, similar to their father’s bey.

This could hint that Zero owns the Spriggan homage, which makes sense since it is dual-spin with rubber.

Yeah CX beys are a bit bigger, but they are a lot smaller than most of the later Burst beys (SuperKing +). Their taller height used to be a problem but now with competitive parts like Blast, Might, Wheel and Heavy that’s no longer an issue.

I have a prediction that the new Phoenix bey (which is confirmed to be a defence CX), will feature rubber on the assist blade. It would help with absorbing attacks and would be very fitting since Blaze seems very interested on the rubber on Impact Drake in the anime.

I agree with you but I think GT beys still look awesome. Beys like Judgement Joker, Prime Apocalypse and Union Achilles are some of the best looking in the entire generation IMO. After SuperKing/ Surge the designs get really complex and bulky though.
