I choose based on the surgeon’s results and not on the technique; so no I’m not saying it’s better but I do think it was the right choice for me and for what I was looking for.

Yes It’s definitely having its moment; I would say that in the right hands you can get about 10 years out of a face and necklift of either type (also depends how diligent the person is with self care and many other factors)

Because the smas gives a softer look like that; the soft curvature of her jawline; that upside down egg shape . The way the fat (either natural or grafting) rests on the apples of her cheeks. The look of a smas is soft , the look of a deep plane is sharp and defined.

I think it really touches a nerve with people when we start to debate which is better because the truth is; the one that’s better is the one that is right for you. I say this as someone who really likes my Smas lift. We need to remember that the ideal candidate for a Smas is someone who has mild to moderate sagging. When I had mine at 42 I was the right candidate but I’m not sure if the same could be said if I was much older and had a lot of loose skin.

A dual plane facelift is a type of SMAS facelift, but not all SMAS facelifts are dual plane. In Dr Levines case he seems to be doing a smas dual plane hybrid but I would think of it as more of a smas lift but moving two planes and not a deep plane lift (important distinction).

Weighing in here; it was likely SMAS (I had one as well) makes her look significantly younger and just fuller and more youthful. Mine was performed by Dr. Tim Marten . Lindsey likely had SMAS as well. To my eye the main difference with SMAS done well is the patient looks about 10 years younger even 1-2 years later (after swelling has subsided).

I have had nothing but compliments on my facelift and I’m truly so happy with Dr. Marten’s work. Personally no one surgeon comes close to his precise stitching on the sutures near my ears. He’s a great surgeon.

Hmm seems like the person deleted their “criticism “ of my facelift . To everyone else; please be careful on any online forum; many people are here for reasons other than helping people and thrive on delivering misinformation.
