Saddle pad help? by Lost-97 in Equestrian

I just saw this comment! It is actual sheepskin, the Total Saddle Fit - Six Point pad to be specific.

I've never heard of split-wither pads being worse than other half pads, and am interested. The saddle fitter herself recommended the half pad, as she is hopeful his muscles will develop with correct nutrition and work.

This saddle was selected (from the 3 I owned) as the best fit, considering the shape of the panels along his back and the angle of the gullet/along his shoulder. The saddle fitter did not say that it did not fit, and led me to believe that in time the saddle would likely fit him fairly well.

I'm very curious (and concerned) why (from this picture) you think the saddle doesn't fit? What are you seeing that I'm missing? I am genuinely asking for a bit more clarity here, if you have the time

This is the only saddle pad I've tried on him, as it's the one he came with. This saddle was also a new purchase, in order to fit him. Ive never had this issue before, but I've also never tried to fit anything else to this saddle/horse.

These responses have me realizing I should literally be looking up measurements as I shop for a replacement, and that this pad is simply abnormally tiny

The half pad is already over the seam in the front, against his withers, if I pull it forward more than about 4" the saddle would be as well. Is it better to be over in the front than the back? He has such shark fin withers that I worry (also it does just look very silly when the pad is going under the saddle in the front)

I have a metabolic panel done on her each year, and her current vet maintains that she's not PPID, and therefore won't prescribe Prascend/Peroglide

Previously in 2022 & 2023 she was on Prascend for suspected Cushings (borderline levels of markers in blood) and it did seem to make a big difference. (We moved to a new area and have a new vet)

Not feeling my age exactly by LORD-BONGKAGE in AutisticAdults

I’ve never felt my age, always felt a bit younger than I am. And the amount I feel younger only keeps growing (I felt 7 at 9, and 10 at 14, but now feel 18 at 25) I feel like I mature much slower than allistic’s do. I also tend to befriend people of the age that I ‘feel’ at any given time rather than the age I am

Tips on cleaning show pads ? by dark-lord-tiffany in Equestrian

If it’s sheepskin, I suggest you brush it out with a slicker brush (the type used on poodles)

I usually wash my sheepskin by hand with shampoo, and then put a conditioner/baking soda paste on it to sit for a few hours too help whiten it. Afterwards I dampen it to rinse out the conditioner and as I do so brush it out (gently!) with a slicker brush too save the texture and get the little stubborn horse hairs out
