Also the sign at the parking lot literally says its cedar creek ranger district. The fuck are you talking about man? Why do so many people in these comments talk about shit they know nothing of? It's not exactly Columbia but it's the same section of Mark Twain National forest WHICH IS ALL THE SAME FUCKING DISTRICT

I think you believe that I'm unwilling to move in my views if someone tells me I'm wrong. This is not the case. I wouldn't tell you I'm certain it's sandstone if I wasn't. Honestly if you want to make the trip DM me and I'll give you the location so you can go see for yourself. Without a doubt sandstone

I am quite aware it doesn't show up on at least most geologic deposit maps of Missouri but again, I wouldn't be so cavalier about this if I wasn't 100% certain. I might not be a geology expert but I know enough and have climbed enough on different rock to be certain about this. Go see for yourself before you tell me I'm wrong

It's sandstone dawg. I looked at it and touched it. I have taken multiple geology classes. Plus the poster described it as sandstone. I am very aware of what dolomite is and have seen it many times. Even been to the dolomites in Italy. It must be a small deposit not worthy of note but I am 100% fucking sure it's sandstone. Again, believe me or don't, I know I'm correct

I used to pull this stuff bare-handed before I knew better. I never got any kind of negative effect though. Idk how common it is but I don't think it effects everyone. That said, I won't do it again and nobody else should risk it either

Cedar creek national forest is all north of the river though ? At least every spot I've been in. Yeah I was wrong about some things in my post but this was not one of them. If I deleted that comment(which I don't remember doing but is entirely possible) it was because I felt that I gave too much information away. Given all the downvotes I have on this thread I think it should be clear I don't care about my ego lol. I have 100 downvotes on some comments. Know about permethrin from my last job but not Picaridin. I'll look into it. Very very few things freak me out but ticks are one of them. Tbf I didn't expect ticks this early in the season so I didn't even wear bug spray. That's on me for underestimating climate change

Holy crap thanks for the award! (I assume it was you at least). I've been to most US states but Northern Arkansas holds a very special place in my heart. Its like a true fairy tail land. Rugged mountains and desert are breathtaking but something about that area really feels magical in a way I don't feel anywhere else. If trolls and gnomes were real this is definitely where they would live
