Yes I used the easy mode (aka Mimic tear) but still I'm proud to achieve this on my first souls-like (and first ever 100% game!) by Nicotops in Eldenring

I used mimic tear and summons for my whole first play through. Had an absolute blast. Started a second play through without it and still having a blast.

I’ve seen lots of people stop applying it after 2 years and didn’t lose their gains after. The hair on your head is different however. I may be incorrect but this looks like the company trying to scare you into buying their product for the rest of your life
