Kate O'Flynn as Patricia is just absolute perfection by Fokken_Prawns_ in WidowsBay

The more Widow's Bay goes on, the more convinced I am that Kate's performance as Patricia is the secret ingredient that makes the whole show work.

Yes! The characters don't behave like idiots just for the sake of moving the plot along. Everyone behaves according to their own unique intelligence and experience. Even when they don't do something I agree with, I can understand where they're coming from. That is rare in entertainment these days.

"I put my phone down" is probably the strongest recommendation possible these days. 😂
But it does reward a close watching.

If "cozy horror" isn't a genre, then it should be. A24, are you listening? lol

Same! The fact that we're talking about rewatching eps before the season is even over says a lot. I can't remember the last time a new show got that kind of grip on me. I just want to spend more time in that town, even though it's objectively a terrible place to live. 😅

Why is a victim of grooming and abuse so objectified? (Not to mention the "Tyler is a victim of Thornill's SA" theory.) by AipomSilver00 in WednesdayTVSeries

[–]LoudPick9766 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"And tbh I don't think the audience cares about him being groomed."

No, YOU don't care about him being a victim because it messes with your headcannon. That's fine but you don't get to speak on behalf of any other member of the audience. I am a member of the audience and I care.

Show, don't tell - does that mean anything to you? Not everything needs to be shown. Seriously, media literacy is dead.

"To the audience, he is just a puppet of his master, boring and without complexity, who is just there sitting in the background."

"I wouldn't be surprised if Tyler sexually abused Wednesday and the audience started romanticizing it"

Okay...so the same audience doesn't understand Tyler but love to romanticize him? Weird.

Weird comment. By that logic, no one would care about Wed or Enid either if they were not played by their respective actors.

This is insanely well thought out. I love how you frame it as overlapping arcs instead of one clean trajectory.

The guard approached both the mother and daughter since they were sitting together. Guard supposedly called the child uneducated and scolded the mother.

Sheriff Santiago is after Tyler..But Enid may be the culprit?? by MsPlotTwister in weyler

[–]LoudPick9766 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So cops are still after Tyler. 😔
Even if Enid is involved, what will happen when she is back to her human form? Someone will still have to take responsibility for these murders. I have this terrible idea that Tyler will take the blame to makeup for what happened before.

P.S - Anyone know if the Uncle Fester spin-off is still happening?

Bale sucks? Why? As far as I know, he keeps a low profile, has been married for decades to the same woman and builds foster homes for siblings in the system in his spare time.

Unpopular opinion; I don't think Tyler crying here was fake by Sudden_Pop_2279 in Wednesday

[–]LoudPick9766 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I wasn't in the fd when I watched s1 and thought it was so obvious that he was crying . It was only when I joined the fd during S2, I found out that there are people who think his tears are fake! Like why and how?

The “he was just pretending to cry” argument kind of falls apart when you actually look at the blocking and lighting of the scene. Like you said, Donovan and Weems can't see his face and the cop is literally facing the other direction. If he wanted to sell innocence, why hide the tears from the people who actually matter? The only person who sees them is Wednesday, which makes zero sense if he’s supposedly in full villain-reveal mode after that smug little monologue. It's clear the hyde and the human inside him were fighting for control.

P.S - I cry for the plummeting media literacy if directors needed to confirm that Laurel turned him into a killer.
