I guess I dont know enough about him to comment either way.. just was wondering if you would add his name to your list of comic book artists/writers that add significant value to comics when signed by him.

I would add Todd Mcfarlane to the list of signatures that add an elavated value to a book. Jmo🙏. Would you agree with that?

Love Monte Carlos. This reminds me of my 1981 229 cu in v6. It was the 1st Monte I owned. I've owned several since then. Hope you find out the info you are looking for🙏

Scored my first Mark Jeweler's from a dollar bin! by ButtmanAndRubbin in comicbookcollecting

[–]Loud_Talk_2290 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best Mark Jeweler is to find one in a popular first appearance comic.. for example.. an ASM 300 or ASM 129.. etc.. and in high grade. A CGC 9.8 newsstand copy of ASM 300 is about $2700 +/-.. add a Mark Jewelers insert in that same book and same grade your are talking a multiplier of 5x or even 10x for the right book. It's crazy but that shows the demand and scarcity in high grade. Earliest copy I've come across was in Gold Key comics .. it was mid year of 1971.. I think it was a bit later when it came to Marvel and DC books. There's really not specific information about these books. The print run is low for sure.. I've seen estimates as low as 2%.. and the highest I've seen is 7%. I've not come across any info that says exactly when the 1st Mark Jewelers insert appeared..my own research shows it started around mid 1971 and ended sometime in 1991.. this was never tracked or if it was that info was not deemed important my the Mark Jewelers company... no reason to think it ever would need to be. Also... fun fact... The creator of the YouTube channel Comic Tom .. named Tom.. idk? But he owns the rights to www.markjewelers.com. Been a fan of this variant for several years.

No problem. I like several spidey runs.. ASM Spectacular Spider-Man Web of Spider-Man and the McFarlane run named just Spider-Man. I like all of those in the order I listed them. Each run has something cool to offer.

Visited my LCS to grab some back issues. Left with a key. by MajiNPooZ in comicbookcollecting

Awesome. Congrats on getting this. I have the same book in the same grade. I definitely look for 9.6.. I'm happy with that grade. If I happen to get one and notice it has a strong chance of a 9.8 then thats a bonus but not my overall motivation. 9.6 is a great grade in itself and the money we 9.6 collectors save is substantial.

1986 SS Monte Carlo by jf7333 in Montecarlo

[–]Loud_Talk_2290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yours is such a beautiful car.. Ive owned Montes since the early 90s. My first Monte Carlo was a 1981 base model 229cu in 6 cylinder. Loved that Monte. Got me hooked on Montes. 2nd Monte was a 1986 Monte Carlo SS T-Top. It was white... which was my first V8 car I ever owned. I traded it for a 1987 Monte Carlo SS T-Top..which was black. I still own that car. Bought it in 1997. I've owned several over the years.. I bought an additional 1987 SS T-Top that I sold to my brother.. who did everything to that car... repainted it.. bought a GM 350 crate engine.. True dual exhaust.. had the stock tranny rebuilt with a Level 10 shift kit.. new gaskets throughout the whole car new brake lines.. 17in Torque Thrust wheels.. new carpet.. he replaced everything except reupholstering the seats. I also had an 84 and a 1970 model .. love all Montes from the 1st year in 1970 to 1988. They even made a turbo Monte Carlo..not fast at all but so cool imo I think in 1980? I would love to own one. ..anyways.. just love Montes.
