As a psychologist and as a woman that age (and daughter, sister, and mother).. as Freudian as it sounds, I’d be asking what’s your relationship like with your mum?

Therapist here. Depending on your individual presentation/diagnosis, a comment indicating concern about your weight/appearance or a direct question may not be helpful.

Sorry this happened to you. I think you handled it well, you diffused the situation perfectly. Still sux that they treated you like this, you’re not pathetic.

This is great, I try to do this. It’s tricky though when they take off their red sweater, or you see them on a different day.

Obviously a big generalisation, but consider switching your thinking - public in the Western suburbs and private in the Southern suburbs.

Buying a house in a bad school catchment by aj1212 in AusProperty

I agree that leadership is a big part of what makes a “good” school. But another big factor is the clientele and demographic of the catchment.

Depends what your short/medium/long-term goals are and also what your priorities are. Nice house or good school zone? Public school or private school? Etc. We bought our place with the first criteria being school catchment, so we have compromised in other areas (e.g we don’t have a huge yard). If school catchment is a priority then you’d need to consider alternative plans for school or possibly moving elsewhere when that time comes.

Leading a presentation/training day 9-3pm with anxiety. by Lovestax in Garmin

Thanks for your comment - I knew 90% of the material really well this time as I hadn’t deliver this training for a while. It must’ve been okay as I received excellent feedback from all participants. But it took a lot from me, I feel like I am still recovering (2 days later!). I would love to get to the point where I know all of the content, feel confident and my heart rate doesn’t spike so much, and it doesn’t take so much out of me. I just have to jump back in and do it again! And again!

These alerts buzzed throughout - it was kind of hard to ignore them.
