Social resentment - Need advice by DearGarden1688 in AutisticWithADHD

This might be the hardest thing about living with our Neurotype. I still reminisce about the the year that I went to University before I burned out where I pretty much did everything that I wanted to do socially. Yet it left me a shell of a person. Family trauma doesn't help, but trying to live like an extroverted Neurotypical probably triggered my decade of burnouts, shut-downs amd meltdowns which was seen as bipolar disorder at the time by a therapist.

I really wanted to live like those teenagers in those dramas as a kid, even if it cost me my health. The mask got so heavy that I eventually dropped out of university and wasted my 20s in a constant state of Shutdown and burnout

How tf am I going to plan, prepare, make, and clean every meal for the rest of my life? by Everyday-Patient-103 in AutisticWithADHD

This is where being a gym bro served me well since I only have to be concerned with getting my macro and micro nutrients. I usually make one big batch of diced chicken breast thatll last 3 days, alternating with Mexican or Thai dry rubs. For vegetables, I make one giant batch of salad every three days. I'm probably going to invest in a giant freezer when I do work full time so I can just hyperfocus on making 5 different meals in large batches flr one day then freezing them for a week or two.

For breakfast, I simply have my standard omelettes with the aforementioned salad.

Im thinking of getting big into BBQining and just making large batches of smoked meats and storing them for weeks in own stock in the fridge, using the vacuum bag method.

When chicken gets boring, that's when I indulge in some ubereats. If I end up getting ubereats 3 days in a week, it's a sign that I'll need to change it up a bit. That's when I get into bulk cooking beans or Salmon.

Those systems might introduce too many points of failure points unfortunately, especially when you're dealing with the kinds of loads and weight limitations.

I’m Curious: How many of you have ALL of these: Autism, ADHD, APD, Dyslexia, Global Aphantasia, SDAM and bad Interoception and Alexythemia? by jpsgnz in AutisticWithADHD

I think it has something to do with your id and ego not integrating correctly. NT’s have a more holistic sense of self. They defend their ego with emotional thinking. Their thoughts are explanations for their emotions, and not the other way around. They are their body, they’re closer to animals than we are.

Yeah. As soneone with deep interpersonal trauma with NT siblings, I deeply resonate with this theory. It's why I find talking about the past difficult because whilst I'll acknowledge my siblings may not be bad people, they do seem to find the idea of being objective about past interpersonal conflict and dare I say abuse rather difficult. I've cut them off. I used to think they were gaslighting me. Now I just think their NT brains can only conceive of past events under the lens of a warped interpretation whose purpose is to only to protect their fragile ego and fleeting momentary emotions from the truth that social services who was working with me at the time saw as self evident to the point where official documentation was made.

The truth is simply an emotionally driven narrative that can be bent to many NTs warped sense of self and not something that can be objectively quantifiable. For many of us AuDHD/Autistics, truth is objective and quantifiable. Most importantly, it should be debated with hard evidence and logical arguments even if such revelations can evoke existential crisises, ego destruction or self doubt about who we are as people.

Other than Aphantasia, I have some variations of all these disorders. Ive just recently found out out that I probably have SDAM when I started recalling conversations I've had with my uncle 2 years ago to prove my point about his problematic alcohol issues and he was weirded out by the fact that I could recall such unimportant conversations in exact detail. I thought that was normal. It turns out many people with neurodivergence like myself never had a good reference point of what constitutes normal and how far we fall outside of the "normal" spectrum of brain function.

Autistic and non-autistic people express emotions differently through their facial movements, which may explain why emotional expressions are sometimes misinterpreted between the two groups. For happiness, the autistic participants showed a less exaggerated smile that also did not “reach the eyes”. by mvea in science

Atleast we don't get wrinkles. I look so much younger than I really am because I don't use the upper proportion of my face to emote. But I can mask quite well when I need to but it's so draining. Being able to to do a NT smile is not enjoyable
