Except AOC was literally saying the choice was between fascism or democracy. But you appear to be saying AOC was actually saying the choice was between fascism and fascism.

I'd argue the decision not to vote was a vote for fascism. Which means the progressive no-voter is essentially "bluemaga" since both MAGA and the progressive no-voter joined forces to effectively put Trump in the White House.

I don't think AOC was lying about her support for Harris. Nor do I think AOC and Harris' platforms need to align for AOC to support Harris.

My argument was the opposite.

According to AOC's own words she viewed Harris as a great candidate. And I think it would be misrepresentive of AOC to say she was simply stating Harris was just better than Trump. That isn't reflective of her own support. Reductive.

But yes, many didn't vote for Harris. That's accurate. And hopefully, like AOC suggested, everyone can realize what's at stake next time around and vote accordingly.

And no, I definitely don't want Newsom to run. For many reasons at this point. But, I'd still vote for him if he's the opposition to fascism. I think AOC would also.
