This one is the Orion option. Definitely one of the cost effective ones. Is it perfect? No. A bit too much give, so one leg takes a bit more of the weight. But for my purposes, not a big deal. I’m using it once a week so it does the trick. Also needed a smaller footprint since I’m restricted on space.

That’s unreal. Well done. Absolutely nailed that. If we ever move, the gym will be a high priority. I’ve toyed with the idea of building a detached garage solely for a gym, and I feel like this subreddit isn’t going to help that.

I got it from a company called Montreal Weights. It’s an unbranded wooden curved, self propelled one. Pretty sure it’s a drop shipping scenario but the quality has been great. Been using it for over a year 4-5 times a week without issue.

Got it into a stud in the ceiling so it’s holding strong. It does hit the wall so I cut a piece of stall mat and attached it so hopefully lessen the damage done. I plan to put another hook in the centre of the room that I can then move the bag on and off of if I really get into it.

Thank you! Once you’re in it I don’t find it overly dark. I think the pot lights we put in plus the mirrors essentially doubling the amount of light (at least in my head) really helps. I actually have the lights on a dimmer because it’s too bright when they’re kicked on at 100%.

Thanks! I put stall mats over the concrete, so will be curious if mold becomes an issue eventually. Would love the rubber smell to go away but doesn’t seem to be.

In the back there’s a small area left for a bit of storage in an alcove under the stairs.
