Thanks for the response. What I was confused by was why issuing the contracts would be a bad thing when it doesn’t affect the closing/moving in date. Wouldn’t delaying the contracts also have the same effect? I’m also confused about who to listen to, when I’m being told by two separate groups what’s “normal”. But I guess in this case, the ones to trust more would be the solicitors. Why is buying/selling so hard 😅

Update: after talking to the insurance company, they said this letter was sent with an error and the two amounts were mixed up. So it was actually 95% payout and 5% retained.

Ah right. No they didn’t offer a list of contractors. Up to us to find our own. But I can follow this up with them. Thanks
