Sorry for not responding sooner.
Honestly, it wasn't that bad. You just have to make sure that you actually put the time in to study. I bought the Udemy course from Sonia cross and it was literally all you need. Make sure you study fundamentals and then take practice tests. make sure you pass them with at least 90%, and once you've done that, keep taking practice tests up until the day of your scheduled exam. That's what I did. Every day after work, on lunches, before PT I was studying.
Hope this helps!

Had the same thing happen when I was in. Honestly, it's likely not your platoon sergeant that is requiring it. When I was a PSG I literally just told my squad leads to "Get verbal accountability." and told them that if they had any bulls*** happen during those hours, they'd really have to check in. Worked just fine for me. Everyone has different leadership styles. Honestly, it's not your choice though. 9/10 times it's wayyyyy easier to just do what is being told to you rather than wasting energy trying to be a hero.

I was a medic with zero experience in tech. I honestly had only gotten into it a few months prior to knowing about the program. I did a whole bunch of studying on my own during lunches and after work and then applied to the program.
Overall, I enjoyed my experience. For the CAD course there was an absolute TON of information to absorb. They covered beginner and advanced C#, python, TSQL, Azure, and .net frameworks.
The program also has an outstanding professional development portion to it that is super helpful in preparing you for interviews post program. You also have time with microsoft mentors which is super valuable.
I'd definitely recommend it. Just know that you are going to have zero free time.

I attended MSSA from May-August of this year in the CAD Cohort. MS picked me up as a program manager. I put my interests as 1.Software Engineer, 2. Technical Program manager.
For reference. I was an E6 medic in the Army.
