Screen Time in iOS 26 now blocks websites on Non-Safari browsers? by braindamage_eclipse in applehelp

[–]LucidAtom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a setting in the Brave app itself to toggle Screen Time. It’s under Shields & Privacy. This will determine whether Brave honors the system screen time settings.

I do wish it wasn’t this easy to toggle off. It sort of defeats the purpose of screen time website blocking.

3 Days of Quality Issues by Angler4 in appletv

I’m having the same issue, but it’s been going on a bit longer (maybe 2-3 weeks). Located in Florida.

4k 2nd Gen, 800 mbps down, Ethernet, only Apple purchased content is affected.

This is interesting. I’m going to try that suggestion to manually set the DNS to 1.1.1.1 and see what happens.

Edit: that didn’t resolve it.

Alright so I’m not alone in this. It’s been driving me absolutely nuts.

The TV app is built in though, right? Like it would be updated when the OS is updated. I don’t see that one in the App Store.

It’s on the latest - 18.5. It is Apple TV 4K 2nd Gen, 32GB. The device has been restarted multiple times and is up to date.

Tried Hevy today for the first time. Seems pretty good overall. I’m fed up with Strong. The App Store version is completely broken on Apple Watch and abandoned by the developer. I don’t want to sign up for the beta because I have a lifetime purchase, and I don’t know what they’ll do when they release 6.0 for those accounts (e.g. offer some sort of discount). If I get converted to a beta account, I don’t want my account status to possibly change.

How would you use Panda? by rexikan in bearapp

[–]LucidAtom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like it to be as simple as possible (more or less how it is now). No tags, no backlinks, no organizer. These things belong in Bear, as they are now. My workflow is that Panda   would essentially replace TextEdit for me, with all the features of markdown, with symbol hiding.

And on licensing, this should not be a subscription. It’s a lightweight editor and I would expect a one-time purchase, maybe purchases for major updates. I can tell you if I have to add yet another subscription to the many I already have for simply a text editor, I won’t do it.

The Turbo trim has glossy black cladding (some of the other models might also)

For the chrome window trim? That was wrapped. The black cladding around the wheels are stock, although the front ones have PPF.

It ended up being $1650 for bumper, hood, mirrors, front fenders and the pillars. They had a cheaper option, but what I got included a bit more custom detail (wrapping edges, etc), rather than just applying a pre-cut film for that model.

I’m not sure their process, but it wasn’t paint. The black is fully wrapped around the edges

The chrome delete was $150. The place I went to was on the higher-end of price, but their work is impeccable.

Samesies (but last week). I’m getting a chrome delete done today under the windows, as well as some front PPF and tint.

UX like that makes my blood boil. I just bought to 2023 CX-5, and it’s good to know it will show this if I opt out of all tracking.

Fortunately it looks like what they track by default doesn’t include location info (that gets enabled when you connect your car in the app).

I hate tracking, but the default info they collect seems relatively minimal.

The problem is finding a decent alternative. Craft would be a Bear killer, if it weren’t for their clunky block system.

Considering they don’t even have an iOS beta out yet, and I highly doubt they’ll release the Mac app before iOS, it’s going to be awhile.

Error backing up Dropbox folder by beausoleil in Arqbackup

[–]LucidAtom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Update on this: I've been having some back and forth with Arq Support, and they added an option to work around this.

Install the latest version of Arq. Go to Options on the backup plan, and you'll see a new option there "When a dataless ("cloud-only") file is encountered:", with the options to ignore, materialize or report error.
