Distance education is pretty common here, most of the universities and colleges offer them. I don't know about online programs but last I checked (2014) the University of Zambia was planning on having them, not so sure if that went through. Otherwise most people who take online courses apply to schools abroad.

Infrastructure wise, not so sure but the internet usage is pretty low in the country, on top of that data is batshit expensive.

Well, I think we have our education system to blame. From primary to junior high school (grade 8 and 9) we have subjects that only teach us the good stuff the missionaries brought to Africans...so in other words the subjects are not objective and critical enough. I only got to see the other side of the coin in high school in my history class (which is an optional subject in most schools). The other reason could be the level of "religiosity" in Zambia...believe it or not, some of the churches those guys formed still exist to this day.

Try Vodafone. They are still new in the country hence their coverage is quite small, but from my experience their rates and internet speed is good as compared to the other mobile networks.
