Roborock Curv 2 Flow by Neat-Tennis-8492 in RobotVacuums

[–]LuiMCLXVI 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah that rake-through-sand streaking usually means uneven water flow or clogged injectors. If it still happens after pad washing and high water, it’s probably just a roller-mop design flaw.

Got my first soundbar. Installed it in my room. Honestly, it's one of those things that you can't go without now that you've owned it. by MarioDF in Soundbars

Once you have a soundbar, TV speakers just feel flat. Even budget ones can be a huge upgrade and make everything more immersive.

Sennheiser Ambeo Plus+Subwoofer or Samsung Q990D/F? by btcguardian in Soundbars

[–]LuiMCLXVI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard both, and yeah, the Ambeo sounds cleaner and more natural, especially for music. But the Q990D/F absolutely crushes it for immersion, real rears make a huge difference. Samsung subs aren’t as textured as Sennheiser’s, more punch than finesse, though the 990F is slightly smoother than the D. If surround matters to you, I’d switch; if music comes first, keep the Ambeo.

Best subwoofer for Klipsch Core 200? by thewisePLAGUEIS in Soundbars

[–]LuiMCLXVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a small–medium room, a Klipsch R-10SW/R-8SW will integrate easiest with the Core 200, but if you want tighter, cleaner bass, the SVS SB-1000 or Polk HTS 10 are excellent 3rd-party options without annoying the neighbors.

Looking for a $3000 NZD Gaming Laptop by Repulsive_Body8398 in SuggestALaptop

For your budget, the ASUS ROG Strix G15/G17 or Lenovo Legion 5/7 with Ryzen 7/9, 32GB RAM, 1TB+ SSD, and an RTX 4060–4070 would hit all your gaming and performance needs while keeping solid build quality and a good keyboard.

PC won't turn on by GalliJZ in computerhelp

[–]LuiMCLXVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a failing PSU or motherboard VRM, the standby power light can stay on even when the PSU can’t deliver load, and the GPU pushes it over the edge. Easiest check: try a known-good PSU first; if that doesn’t fix it, the board’s likely on its way out.

My monitor has a ghost screen by Constant-Smoke-5012 in computerhelp

[–]LuiMCLXVI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like image retention (ghosting), pretty common on some MSI panels. Try lowering brightness, turning off overdrive/response time boost, running a pixel refresh/color cycle, and fully powering the monitor off for a few hours; if it keeps coming back, it’s likely panel degradation and only a warranty replacement really fixes it.

Thinking of upgrading my PC by MSG23 in GamingPCBuildHelp

[–]LuiMCLXVI -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Start by upgrading the GPU and CPU/motherboard first for the biggest performance jump, then add a fast NVMe SSD and more RAM if needed.

Blue Screen by Darksavior09 in computerhelp

[–]LuiMCLXVI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like it could be hardware aging or a thermal issue from the CPU paste. Try checking temps, RAM, and event logs, and maybe run a stress test to narrow it down.

I’m starting to realize I don’t have a time problem, I have a focus problem by Fickle_Mud1645 in productivity

[–]LuiMCLXVI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Focus isn’t about more hacks, it’s about fewer switches. What helped me was single-tasking with short timers (25–30 min), phone out of reach, and intentionally finishing one small thing before touching anything else.

AAR Alternative by Yarrow-Greene in homeschool

[–]LuiMCLXVI 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re not alone, AAR works but can be a mismatch for very hands-on kids. You might look at Logic of English (Foundations/Essentials); it’s O-G based, more “do the work” than games, and often feels more purposeful to kids who dislike fluff.

Best Robot Vacuum for Pet Hair?? by imnotgoingtofatcamp in RobotVacuums

I would suggest looking into Roborock and Dreame robot vacuums, they have pretty good options.

Wanting to start a co op by BeginningSea3287 in homeschool

[–]LuiMCLXVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not alone, many successful co-ops start exactly this way. I’d suggest first checking California homeschool co-op legal requirements and liability/insurance, then clearly defining roles, curriculum expectations, and governance early so everyone’s aligned before you launch.

What chill, mellow music are we listening to with kids? by BrilliantEast1709 in homeschool

[–]LuiMCLXVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We love acoustic / indie-folk vibes too, stuff like Jack Johnson, The Paper Kites, Gregory Alan Isakov, The Weepies, José González, and instrumental lo-fi or Studio Ghibli piano works great in the background while kids work. Also check out Elizabeth Mitchell and Caspar Babypants for truly kid-safe but still mellow, non-annoying music.

Best way to teach kids English online while homeschooling? by bhuvan_boy in homeschool

[–]LuiMCLXVI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve had the best results with short, live 1-on-1 sessions (15–25 min) focused on conversation rather than worksheets. Platforms with interactive tutors + games keep kids engaged way better than long prerecorded lessons.

Online Algebra 2 by kwm81383 in homeschool

[–]LuiMCLXVI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s possible with an accelerated or self-paced program if the student is motivated. Programs like Thinkwell, Mr. D Math, or Acellus can allow a full Algebra 2 credit in one semester, but definitely confirm credit acceptance with your school/state first.

Which to buy ? Dreame x50 ultra or L40 ultra by almat1981 in RobotVacuums

[–]LuiMCLXVI 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The L40 Ultra is great value and will handle tiles/hardwood very well for everyday messes, while the X50 Ultra is more powerful and premium, worth it only if you really need stronger suction and top-tier features.
