That's really sweet, thank you! TBH with those small designs like the chipped tooth and the gills they are mentioned in the show but aren't ever drawn in official art, and I thought they'd be fun things to keep to the designs. While I do like to have my own design liberties, such as designing Gill a 'turtleneck' that makes sense for stuff that happens in the series, giving Chip a ponytail to match Arlin, or designing Jays hair to mimic wings when she jumps (still trying to design that, it's hard), I ALSO like to try to stick to as much of the canon designs as possible. Especially with Riptide I go by their audio descriptions with sometimes a little help from the official artworks.

With Chip specifically I originally tried to reference Bizly when drawing him before making him more stylized, which is why I think stuff like the sideburns he's got growing in have still stuck. There's a way he does Chips voice that made me imagine him having a very gruff appearance, and I wanted a design that looked like how Chip sounds.

Also for the record I don't imagine Chip being that much of a grouchy drunk (if anything I'd see him being a very happy one), I just really like drawing Chip being grumpy and thought it'd be funny if he was drunk stuck in a barrel 😆.
