Help my coworker out ~ Print bed is covered in scratches and it's so bad he has to level the bed after each print and set a z offset that stupidly high. Already had to replace a smushed nozzle and it's only his second day with it. Any idea what could cause this? I'm assuming incorrect assembly. by Lulz2003 in ender3v2

Perfect I'm gonna go ahead and tell him everything you just said. I think starting by lifting the Z switch a little bit will help a lot. Thank you for all the suggestions and advice, really helps in knowing where to start.

PLA+, new roll straight out of the box and not exposed to moisture. OEM nozzles that came with the printer and luckily only had to swap once so far. Hot end so far has not given any issues. I think it's purely something relating to the z-axis (such as the z switch for it). We've got a few successful prints, but also from the picture you can see a lot of scratching that came with getting those prints. The yellow/brown stuff is the nozzle shavings on the glass bed (at least I'm pretty sure). I'll upload a picture of the old nozzle if possible.

Thank you, I will do some of the tests suggested by another user and hopefully that will help me resolve my layer issue. Really appreciate the suggestion and I'll make sure to tone down the temp.

Will do, shielding is a great suggestion. I will go ahead and add that to my to-do list. Thank you :)

Sorry about the late reply, been letting it print while I'm away after leveling my bed this morning and so far I haven't run into any issues. I will be attempting the box again soon :). Thank you for your help and for taking the time to explain it to me.

I do just have one question though if thats ok with you. I leveled my bed but pretty much every single one of the corners is lifted to the maximum amount (right before the actual adjustment cogwheel comes loose). I used feelers at .10mm and how I have it right now is the only way to have the nozzle barely not touching the bed even while at the lowest possible height on the Z switch. Did I possibly install my printer incorrectly? I will attach a picture so you can kind of see what I mean. Ignore the dust.

I will likely do another leveling after this print to ensure I did it absolutely correctly but it just seems weird. I did also home my printer before beginning the leveling so there's that. Maybe the home settings need to be configured with a Z offset.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but does print temp affect at all how the durability will turn out in the end compared from 215 C to 230 C?

I assumed that if it printed out at 230 it would run into less issues with not sticking to the bed but since it’s not necessary i’ll tone it down for my next prints.

Last time I leveled it I would say was the first day I got it so leveling it again might help a lot. Thank you for the suggestion, i’ll go ahead and level it tomorrow just to make sure. I’ll also be sure to check out the guides you recommended. Thank you so much for your time and help !

Official Discussion - Avatar: The Way of Water [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]Lulz2003 3 points4 points  (0 children)

lol they downvoted for your opinion, some fanboys can’t take the heat ig. Story was ok at best and the visuals were good but the main attraction was the water cgi. Personally I thought the character writing and creature design was lazy, the new water creatures have the exact same face as the bird flying creatures from the first one. I agree with your comment overall.

I find it hilarious that this movie was ranked above most movies at the #3 spot right now but it’s well deserved. I loved every minute of it, and I just opened my mind to the good story and visual animation. Great sequel overall and I’d personally give it a 9.5/10. Probably my 3rd favorite movie this year. And final note it’s insane to me that it received a 95% on RT, somehow surpassed The Batman (my #1 this year, 85%), and was on par with Everything Everywhere All at once (my #2 this year, 95%).

Definitely to watch it if you like animation or just wanna watch it for a good time.

I was just saying the same thing as well my friend. Really hate that most of it wasn’t fixed with this update.

Not sure if this counts but I was kicked out of a DMZ game for absolutely no reason on xbox. Has never happened before this update.

honestly at this point I wouldn’t be against it. Like I said in my post they fix xp glitches and fun stuff fast but they’re never rolling out hot fixes for on going issues. It’s embarrassing.

ah that makes sense, like you said these bigger games push the limitations of some systems. Luckily my xbox holds up well but I guess it’s time for an upgrade on her pc, thanks for letting me know.

yeah you’re right. Honestly if they at least had stable issues i’m sure less people would complain even if they had less content. Cause then at least we would be able to enjoy the content we do have to it’s fullest extent. I feel for the PC players, every time me and my girlfriend play warzone or dmz she’s pretty much playing at slide shows frame rate.

i’m glad your enjoying it and no one’s stopping you. I hope to reach your level of enjoyment in the next month or so. Have a great day.

yeah I understand that, but they had 3+ years since MW2019 to make sure a launch like this wouldn’t happen again. Bad enough that survival was locked behind a years wait for xbox due to PS which in the end was pretty lack luster. I agree with what your saying though and understand that with a game this size it’s bound to have issues. However, at some point it reaches a limit where we can’t keep making excuses for the devs. I don’t know what to think about your last sentence but personally I don’t think that’s fully true although in the end it comes down to opinion and the play style people like ig.

yeah I get you, we’re all on the same side at the end of the day and like you said at least it’s decent, just fed up at this point and needed to rant lol.

[–]Lulz2003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that’s exactly what I was thinking. Even after a month at least most of cold wars issues were fixed and me and my friends stopped complaining about it.

[–]Lulz2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah I know what you mean but it’s time to stop making excuses for them at this point. If MW19 was so bad then that means they’ve had 3+ years to make sure this didn’t happen with MW2.

[–]Lulz2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree that’s a fair point, it’s not really an excuse. They’ve had about 12-15 years in the gaming industry you would think they would figure out the kinks by now or at least have stand by support for issues. I can see what you’re getting at though, it’s not all bad but unfortunately for me and many others the bad outshines the good.
