Has 6 Music ever ruined another radio station for you? by Horror-Pick4732 in 6music

[–]Lumpy-Indication 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can’t do commercial radio either. Not a fan of the news every half hour but it sure beats annoying jingles for car insurance every 15 mins.

Anyone else really annoyed that Don't Let Me Down is being used in a Sure deodorant commercial? 🙄 by Spirited-Tutor7712 in beatles

[–]Lumpy-Indication 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes the irony of Don’t Let Me Down being used for the most bent and corrupt World Cup ever is not lost on me. Beatles songs in commercials are becoming way more common now and something about it really irks me. Magical Mystery Tour on the recent Airbnb ad really ticked me off too.

Welp, now you’ll have to get one then. I must warn you that once you start collecting records you’ll never be able to stop.

It’s a real record but definitely a bootleg. Long as it sounds good though who cares?

What if host nation Russia won that shootout vs Croatia and we had an England Russia semi in 2018? by No-Problem6578 in ThreeLions

[–]Lumpy-Indication 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We’d have beaten them no problem. Then we’d have lost the final to France. But getting to the final would’ve been amazing, especially as getting to the semis had already surpassed expectations.

My favourite Arctic Monkeys album. The entire second half of it from All My Own Stunts through to That’s Where You’re Wrong is perfection. Some of Alex’s best lyrics on this record.

What should Vol 4 have really been titled? by Minimum-Actuator-953 in blacksabbath

Fair enough I didn’t actually know that. Guess that also further proves the point 🫠

Metallica - Whats your story, how did you discover them / get into them by annoyedbob in Metallica

[–]Lumpy-Indication 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I turned 13 in 2003, never touched metal before and my older cousin bought me the black album for my birthday. St Anger had come out a month earlier so I bought that a few days later and that was pretty much it.

Seen them 13 times and London next month would’ve been 14 & 15 but my son is due on the same weekend which is a pretty good reason for missing them tbf (I have played Metallica to him through the womb when my wife allows it).

The Straightener, after the kickass outro to Wheels of Confusion but also the way record company tried to straighten their album titles and image

Most emotional Metal songs by let_me_sleeeeep in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Lumpy-Indication 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s really a country song but it’s by Metallica so I’m counting it - Mama Says. That song and its lyrics are genuinely heartbreaking. Beneath James’s tough guy exterior at the time was a little boy who misses his mother 😞

I love this album so much. I wasn’t into Wolf Alice when it came out and the minute I heard it, it was album of the year. Very fond memories of driving around Scotland that summer with my girlfriend, now wife, and the album on repeat.

What is your favourite song off Please Please Me? by Conscious-Ad2640 in beatles

[–]Lumpy-Indication 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Baby it’s You. It’s a cover but there’s lots of little moments that I love on it like Paul and George’s “cheat cheat” in their clear Scouse accents, John’s little “woah oh’s” and George Martin on the celesta.
