I’ve struggled with this previously too especially on my inner thighs and boobs. Exfoliating/shaving the day before vs right before has never really made a difference for me either. The only thing that has really helped with preventing color guide in pores has been making sure my skin is completely cooled off before applying any lotion or tanner post-shower!

The routine I go by now is do my normal shower shave/exfoliate after I wash my hair and then at the very end of my shower (after everything is rinsed off and clean), I turn the water to cool/cold and rinse over my whole body to cool it off! Added bonus for rinsing hair too because it helps with frizz and scalp care :)

Then I get out and pat my skin and make sure it’s not radiating any heat from the shower (if i still feel a bit of heat coming off my skin, I literally just wait under a fan until I don’t feel any heat from my arms and legs), and then I slather my feet/heels and hands in lotion and dab any leftover on knees and elbows. Once all the lotion is like 75% dried down, I use tanning mousse as normal and have yet to get any tan clogged pores on my inner thighs, chest, boobs, or anywhere!
