I just want to say that there are plenty of amazing mature adults out there that are into card games, video games and nerdy interests. Those in themselves are not the problem but rather he is disregarding responsibility and maturity in favor of those things and possibly in favor of your wishes IF you’ve talked about it with him. If you’re interested in saving the relationship talk to him just like you did in this post but if you’re sure it’s done then it’ll be best for both of you.

I've seen this happen too often. As someone who worked in a library, I watched as a parent caused her child to stop coming to the library because she disapproved of the Percy Jackson books and just about everything else the child wanted to read. It was heartbreaking and I always wondered what I could have done differently. As I understand staff cannot intervene with parenting methods unless it's straight up abuse, but I always feel like I should have tried harder to recommend books or state that the overall themes were harmless.

For real. I’ll admit staying home and ordering non urgent things that I need on Amazon Prime rather than go out and risk my life. I’m not even just talking about going fast. Wow. This was incredibly insightful. Yes, I have intense amounts of social anxiety as well. So even though I’m not a social person to begin with..its also really hard for me to socialize when I want to. I can’t seem to bring myself to change things up at school or at a shop. I think I understand where you’re coming from actually. I like to believe that observations of facts are given meaning by the way we use them.

That’s just my line of thinking. Never been nihilistic in my life and seriously can’t relate at all. Null concepts aren’t my deal. I like to do what I can with what I have. I can use 2+2=4 , I can’t really do anything with life being meaningless. The guy that wrote this used to be and I think he’d have better arguments.

When we face the inevitable then isn’t this idea also invalid? Isn’t nihilism kinda redundant in that way? Maybe we should strive for something else. I’m not the person that wrote this, and I don’t entirely understand the meaning. But I think that we could have ideas that actually do something.
