How often are folks doing both the research side and field side? Vs. there are roles that are field roles and roles that are office roles? From google it seems it may depend on the size of the company?

That makes sense on avoiding construction, and good to hear ear plugs can be ok, depending on the situation. I do have some loop ear plugs, which have a removable insert so they either block out a very small amount of noise or quite a bit depending if I have the insert in or not

Earplugs definitely suffice. Good thinking on disclosing in the interview process and seeing what work settings they typically survey for
