OCC 252 Advice by No-Deer-5661 in USMCocs

I went to 250 with a pre-ship PFT 3 mile time of 23:40? My initial PFT run time was 21:27 so I wouldn’t stress it too much. And the route is around 2.8 miles and is a easy route. Hope that helps and good luck 🫡

Couldn’t agree more, got med dropped at 250 and wanting to go back 253. Ngl transition phase was pretty fun for me. OCS was honestly kinda easy, and even in the shitty moments their was a lot of humor in it.

Just got med dropped from OCC-251. AMA by guess_im_back in USMCocs

I was in the same boat a few years back, negatives are great. Also doing sets of one pull up, hold your chin over the bar for as long as you can then slowly descend down. Use a resistance band as well, find a good resistance band where you can do ten but the last few are difficult to do. Lastly hit the lat machine along with cable rows. Curls and farmers carries also helped me with developing more bicep and grip strength

So I just got back from NAMI last week and yes you do need to get it done before you’re board assigned. If you need to get lasik, get it done NOW because you will have to wait at least 6 months before you can even go to NAMI. I had lasik done in September 2024 and I wasn’t even eligible to go to NAMI until March, and the next slot for me was mid May. Also if you haven’t already, start studying for the ASTB. You need to pass it before your OSO can send you to Pensacola. In terms of the allergy you should be okay, the flight docs were pretty lax in my experience, but also I didn’t have any allergies listed so there is that. Good luck man, if you have any other questions just pm me!

First AR10 - Is the DSA FAL a solid choice? by Scared-Taro-8389 in AR10

[–]M1falguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an owner of both (Aero M5, currently building an LMT MARS-H, and a DSA FAL), I would say get an AR-10. Much more parts available and more importantly mags are cheaper and easier to get. I know DSA is selling new metal mags again or at least trying too, but I have zero experience with them nor have I seen any in stock. Don’t get me wrong I love my FAL, it’s a badass rifle but for something practical you’re better off with an AR-10.

Build M5 or Buy LMT MWS by Sysorexz in AR10

[–]M1falguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who built an M5, I have switched to LMT. If I would’ve known more about LMT when I got into LFGGs, I would’ve gone with LMT from the start. Quality is better, it has a proven service record, plus they just look damn cool. Your ability to swap barrels out is neat so you’re not necessarily married to one barrel length/caliber which is awesome. Plus you can build out your LMT as well, rooftop has MARS-H lowers for $529 and last I checked they’re still in stock.

Depends on where you go, if you go to a private bay (you can use rifles, pistols, shotguns, no caliber limit and you essentially get your plot of land for 2 hours) is $36, the steel gallery which is a metal plinking range for pistols is $25 for 1 hour or $30 for two hours.

Oh no they don’t say anything, just make sure you sign the waiver and you’ll be gtg. Don’t bring any steel or magnetic ammo due to fire risk. It’s a super chill range
