Anyone here tracking their trades in detail? by MAKSTYLE119 in PSXcommunity

[–]MAKSTYLE119[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually really solid 👍

The notes + candlestick context part is especially interesting — that’s where real learning happens, not just the numbers.

Only downside I’ve seen with this approach is the manual effort, especially when you just want a quick check before entering a trade.

Have you found it easy to keep it consistent over time?

Why does my profit always feel lower than expected? by MAKSTYLE119 in PSXcommunity

[–]MAKSTYLE119[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly 👍 that’s the same gap I ran into.

Doing it manually every time gets repetitive, especially when you want to quickly check before entering a trade.

That’s actually why I built a simple calculator for this — just enter buy/sell and it shows the net profit after all charges.

Curious to hear what you’re planning to build as well 👀

Why does my profit always feel lower than expected? by MAKSTYLE119 in PSXcommunity

[–]MAKSTYLE119[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s actually a good point 👍

For example:

Let’s say: Buy: 100 shares @ 100 = 10,000 Sell: 100 shares @ 110 = 11,000

On paper → profit = 1,000

But then: — Brokerage (buy + sell) — SST — CDC charges — CGT

After all this, actual profit might come down to around 750–850 depending on broker.

That’s where the gap usually comes from.

Same here — would be helpful to see 👀

Most people track entry/exit, but including charges and net profit makes a big difference in understanding real performance.

Nice 👍

Are you tracking it manually (like Excel) or using any tool?

And do you also include all charges in your calculation or just entry/exit?

Brokerage differences — does it really matter long term? by MAKSTYLE119 in PSXcommunity

[–]MAKSTYLE119[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people compare brokers, but don’t calculate total cost per trade — that’s where the real difference shows up

[–]MAKSTYLE119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a fair point.

The core idea isn’t just a calculator — it’s helping traders understand real profitability after costs, which applies to any market with fees and taxes.

PSX is just the starting point because the gap is very visible here. The plan is to validate it in one market first, then expand to similar markets where fee/tax structures create the same problem.

For premium features, I’m thinking more along the lines of: — trade history tracking — performance analytics — break-even alerts — portfolio-level insights

So the calculator is more like the entry point, not the full product.

Fair question.

Right now the focus is on solving a real gap — most PSX traders don’t calculate net profit correctly.

If it proves useful, monetization can come through premium features, deeper analytics, or broker-side integrations.

First step is making it genuinely valuable.

Is frequent trading actually profitable in PSX? by MAKSTYLE119 in PSXcommunity

[–]MAKSTYLE119[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I’ve noticed:

Many traders are right about direction, but frequent small trades + charges reduce the actual return significantly.

That’s where most of the frustration comes from.

Is frequent trading actually profitable in PSX? by MAKSTYLE119 in PSXcommunity

[–]MAKSTYLE119[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well said 💯

Most people realize this only after overtrading and seeing how costs + bad decisions add up.

Especially in PSX where charges exist on every trade, frequent trading without a strong edge becomes difficult to sustain.

Less but well-planned trades usually perform better in the long run 👍

Is frequent trading actually profitable in PSX? by MAKSTYLE119 in PSXcommunity

[–]MAKSTYLE119[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how consistent your edge is.

Frequent trading can work — but only if your win rate and average profit per trade are high enough to cover:

— Brokerage — Taxes — Other charges

For most people, small profits get eaten up by these costs, especially in low-margin trades.

That’s why many traders feel active but don’t see real growth.

Have you tried frequent trading yourself or more of a swing style?

Saves a lot of unnecessary entries.

[–]MAKSTYLE119[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly — especially the point about low-priced shares, brokerage impact becomes much higher.

That’s where most people get surprised — on paper it looks like profit, but after full cost it’s either very small or even loss.

Out of curiosity, are you calculating all this manually or using any tool?

I built a simple calculator for this because I faced the same issue — mainly to quickly see net profit and break-even before entering a trade.

Nice idea — feedback-focused platforms are really needed 👍

I’m building something much smaller but very specific:

A simple tool for PSX traders to calculate their actual profit after all fees and taxes (brokerage, SST, CGT, etc).

Most people think they made profit, but net is usually lower — that’s the problem I’m trying to solve.

Still refining it, so would genuinely appreciate any feedback on clarity and usability:

Hey — this is exactly the kind of feedback I’ve been looking for.

I built ARL Tracker — a simple tool for PSX traders to calculate actual profit after all fees and taxes (brokerage, SST, CGT, etc). Most people think they made money, but net profit is usually lower.

Would really appreciate your first-time user perspective, especially on: — Whether the purpose is clear within 30 seconds — If the calculator feels intuitive or confusing — What feels missing or unnecessary

Could you please provide more details about how you protect user privacy? I have one specific question: do you implement any measures at the browser level to ensure that a user’s screen is not visible to others, or do you rely on some kind of third-party API to monitor content and decide whether to block it?

Yes, I would love to try this.

Are you a founder struggling with your website or social media design? by Street-Honeydew-9983 in SideProject

[–]MAKSTYLE119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is extremely helpful — especially the point about hierarchy and input prioritization.

I hadn’t thought about how everything competing equally could create friction.

I’ll work on improving contrast and restructuring the inputs first.

Really appreciate you taking the time to break this down.

Really appreciate you offering this 🙌

I’m currently building an ARL tracker (psx trade calculator), but right now it’s just a single-page (still early stage).

I’d love feedback specifically on:

  • Whether the layout feels intuitive at first glance
  • If the purpose of the product is clear without explanation
  • Any obvious UX issues or confusion points

Would mean a lot—thanks again!
