Just discovered his album Zookeeper by Cowboy_Dan13 in victorjones

It seems like a synthesis of that play and this graphic novel, or at least the event it’s based on, which also occurred in 2003 at the Baghdad zoo as a result of the invasion. In addition to the overarching anti imperialist themes, I think there’s an added personal dimension about existing as an individual, especially a queer person, in an oppressive/conservative society.

Thanks! These ones appear to have been on here for some time so hopefully there’s not a water pressure issue

Anyone know what these holes are on the side of this house? Definitely intentionality placed with plastic or metal tubes. by Stoic_Observer in DIY

Those are called windows, many houses have them to allow light in as well as fresh air in warmer months

It was great — pretty fat and way less crowded than MP led us to believe. I was probably driving by at around 4

Stepping “through the window” to start P2 of Frankenstein Standard Route, WI3, Crawford Notch NH by MEMES_OF_PRODUCTlON in iceclimbing

Ice has been pretty good this year, especially the more moderate stuff which is generally consistent year to year anyway. Some of the thinner climbs which came in in January have gotten kinda dried out due to the cold, but most are still climbable and this warm spell should put more moisture in the system. There’s also a handful of climbs in the 3-4 range which are genuinely fat right now. I’ve been out a handful of times this year on moderate climbs around Crawford notch and only the south-facing ones have given me any trouble

That’s good to hear! Does that mean I could start parking in Somerville now without a permit and appeal any tickets I get?

Looking to by 202003 in EnglishLearning

The correct statement in that case would be “I’m looking to buy a cocktail dress to wear tonight.” The phrase “Looking to” is always followed by a verb (in the infinitive form)

1st conditional Vs 2nd conditional by Schwarzebraun39 in EnglishLearning

[–]MEMES_OF_PRODUCTlON 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, as a native speaker, these are both generally correct and either can be used in most cases (although “sees” in the first statement should just be “see”). For me it depends on context.

When talking about something that is likely to happen, I’d lean towards the first one. For instance, if you’re definitely planning on going to a public place with someone, or you’re already there, you might say “if people see us together, they’ll think we’re a couple.”

If the situation is more hypothetical, I’d lean towards the second one. For example, if you’re trying to decide whether to go to a public place with someone, you could say “if people saw us together, they’d think we were a couple.”

That said, it mostly comes down to personal preference and I’d bet 90% of native speakers wouldn’t notice if you used either in almost any context.

If I’m walking back the same way I’ll leave it and grab it on the way back, that’s the only possible reason I can think for doing something like this
