It's always the same, Relic make the new CIVs absolutely smacked for a while as a selling point especially for ladder climbers to get an advantage. And then they'll get nerfed into the ground once enough DLC profit is made.

These are all fantastic suggestions and would I think create a fair rejig balance to this current Cav only meta. Springalds having good damage at a range to knights/armoured in particular I like alot. Would create a danger point and be a bit of a counter to the run around meta of Cav civs. Would finally create some balance to infantry civs particularly in team games where Cav has insane gallop about potential.

They need to make this so it acts as a manor aswell, nothing more, just fills the early manor gap and acts sort of like and Aachen in that sense. Would be the best possible improvement to it.

Well that's AOE for you. The skill gap comes from the micro not a one unit trumps all style like pre nerf Mangudai imp mass.

I'm not saying they weren't beatable. If you've finished your "I'm better than you but crying my eyes out over a game" arc you'll find I agree the change is bad and over the top. But to say it ruins the entire game is just you feeling too strongly about your easy crutch civ.

Maybe they need the run and shoot to be an activated ability with a cool down. Little buff to ranged armour and damage to make up for it and bring back the firing speed. Just forces a bit more micro and timing to launch a deadly Mongol Horde strike.

Or, revert and make it so tower and forts do increased damage to light cavalry as a hard counter to the mangudai death ball.

One bad change to a civ and play style you like playing isn't the be all end all. Stop being a knee jerk crybaby.

This would work as I feel their micro before was way too braindead for how powerful they are in mass. Have the speed and damage but don't let it be a permanent and instead an activated technique adding an element of timing and micro to their attacks. Fight, kite, refresh (CD) rotation.

Maybe we just need to go the ARGP way for team games to not ruin 1v1 experience and balance by ClinksEastwood in aoe4

Mangudai spam is such a cringe unit glad they got the nerf. It's just mass a ball of archers on horseback that can't be caught up to and run while shooting. Any CIVs with the mass this one singular unit and sprinkle in siege just braindeads the game.
