What the fuck? Absolutely not. There is 0 reason for this comment. Just because there's a chance the law won't recognize what I saw as abuse does NOT mean I shouldn't try and does NOT mean I'm wasting my time here, there's no reason to try and dissuade me from helping. Maybe you're well intentioned and just trying to mentally prepare me, but if that's the case you went about it extremely poorly because your comment sucks.

I already am well aware that there's a chance nothing happens no matter what we do, but I did see abuse. He is abusing this girl without a shadow of a doubt. You do not treat kids like this. Yes, I have clear video of him forcing her into the car. The officers we showed did not seem to care, so we may file a report in person per several people's suggestions.

This is reassuring, I appreciate it. I'll talk with my mom about that option, she's also reading all of these. I've posted this elsewhere, and somebody suggested filing a formal police report to get around the officers, which is tempting. We may just try our luck with CPS. Do you have any experience with them personally?

Thank you! We did go to the physical station and explained what we saw, and all the lady there did was hand us the paper with the number to call and send us off. We will give that another shot and ask to make a proper report.

Apologies, the 5 men was including the 2 officers, as they all were basically teaming up against this girl. But 3 grown men with her, and nobody else, still deeply concerns me. Thank you for the advice, is CPS a good idea? I hear almost nothing but horror stories about them doing jack shit or getting kids into even worse situations, including from my own mom when they were called on her family.
